Breakfast - plain porridge

Snack - ellas kitchen banana fruit pouch & a Greek yoghurt

Lunch- cheese wrap, sugar free banana organix biscuit

Dinner- corn on the cob, two spoonfuls of potato with cheese, mini milk

She was offered strawberries at breakfast which she didn't touch, same with cucumber sticks at lunch. She will likely have some unsweetened muesli and milk before bed. I'm really struggling getting much fruit and veg in. How does the is compare to list other people's toddlers?

My 2 year old rarely eats anything at all, so if he ate what yours had I’d be over the moon!

shenanigans5 · 25/04/2021 18:05

My toddler DS has a BMI of about 50 I reckon 🤣

He’s had:
beaker of milk, cornflakes and raspberries for breakfast
Rice cake for snack
Chicken sausages (x2), bread, cucumber, strawberries for lunch (tomatoes and carrot batons chucked on floor)
Roast pork, potatoes, broccoli, sweetcorn, mango and blueberries with apple juice for dinner

He eats too much and it shows but he’s always so bloody hungry. Eats more than I do.

Vooga · 25/04/2021 18:13

DD has a bowl of Cheerios for breakfast, a bite of scrambled egg and a hash brown for second breakfast. Lunch was out and she has a kids burger and chips with sweet corn. DP also got her a strawberry milk and an ice pop. She then had a chocolate ice cream later on. Dinner is roast chicken, potatoes, veg and yorkshire puddings and she's currently refusing to eat anything though she does usually like this.

Weekends are very treat heavy at the moment. I always try and get some veg in on lunch and dinner, even if it's one bite of a carrot stick with lunch. Thankfully she eats plenty of fruit with no problem.

Mine ate porridge for breakfast with ground almonds stirred in and a few raisins

Crumpet pizzas for lunch (just tomato purée and cheese on top), pear (didn’t eat the veg or tangerine served with it)

For tea ate some satay chicken skewer but left the veg and noodles I’d made to go with. So had cheese and crackers, a banana, pear and a yoghurt.

reecespiece · 25/04/2021 19:18

B - strawberry and banana bircher

L - spaghetti carbonara and sweet potato fries followed by blueberries

D - chicken nuggets and chips (what the older DC wanted for a treat) followed by a pear

Drinks water throughout the day and milk before bed

Not much veg or snacks today as we've been so busy playing in the garden but on a normal day we'll have high protein yoghurt and raw cucumber/carrots/pepper as a snack

If you're worried try offering fruit/veg instead of the Ellas bars (not knocking them because I use them if we're out and about)

Ihaveoflate · 25/04/2021 19:21

Weetabix x1 and oat milk with half a banana and some fruit puree followed by a handful of blueberries

Organix oaty bar for snack

Cheese on toast, a few slices of cucumber, a cherry tomato and some more banana for lunch

Chick pea fritter for snack

Omlette (a few bites) with peas and sweet corn followed by half a pear for tea

She's eating well just now but goes through phases. Her appetite is bigger in the morning and wanes by tea time, so she sometimes only had a few mouthfuls of her last meal.

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 25/04/2021 19:46

My 2 year old has eaten today

B - small bowl of strawberries, blueberries and golden berries with 2 spoonfuls of plain yogurt

L - half a hot dog, 3 small marshmallows, 1 cherry tomato and several slices of cucumber in the play park

T - homemade pizza with tomatoes, cucumber, golden berries, apple slices followed by half a slice of apple cake

Milk for breakfast, water whenever and she had a fruit shoot in the park.

Protein is our biggest problem. She dislikes most meat although sea food is okay. Yesterday more of my prawn and lobster burrito went into her and dc1 than me. Apparently at a similar age dh would only eat 3 things and he turned out mostly okay.

What about homemade smoothies? Every time we watch the Bing episode I suggest we make some and I've managed to sneak in all sorts. The joy inspired by turning on the blender distracts them.

Mamabear12 · 25/04/2021 20:18

How much milk does your two year old drink? This might make your dc less hungry. I have 3 kids. First and third had good appetites. The middle one was a bit picky.

My 16 month dd today ate:

Breakfast - strawberries, bowl of wheatabex and cheese
Snack - Ella’s fruit pouch
Lunch - One egg, yogurt, toast w butter and blueberries
Snack - Clementine and cheese (she loves cheese...I need to hide it in the fridge as every time I open the door she makes a run for it!) a few bites of apple and two tiny bites of a date (my snack she wanted some)
Dinner - half an avocado, blueberries, strawberries, salmon, potato.

She has 6-7 ounces of milk in morning and 4-5 in evening. She isn’t a big fan of milk, but eats loads. She has a wide variety of foods. And gets more dairy by having yogurt and cheese.

It really depends on the child. I do keep offering her foods if she doesn’t take it and she eventually eats it. But mainly she is keen to try everything. Broccoli was the stand out one that took many times of offering before she started eating it. It’s the one veggie my picky eater will eat!!!

InsanelyPregnantAndSore · 25/04/2021 20:19

My 13 month old has eaten

30g of Ready break with half a banana Ella’s pouch
An apple biscotti biscuit

Half a chocolate digestive he screamed to share (it was mine).

A little Yeo yoghurt
4 carrot and lentil crunchy sticks

A 150ml bottle of pre nap milk

Cheese broccoli and leek pasta with mushrooms and peas (200g portion)
Half a biscotti biscuit

A few mouthfuls of my innocent smoothie he demanded to share!

Haddock potato and pea dinner (200g portion)
The other half of his biscotti

150ml pre bed milk

ZoeMaye · 25/04/2021 20:25

Water

Toast with butter
Cheese and onion crisps (half bag)
Blackcurrant squash (sugar free)

Cucumber, carrot, celery and pepper sticks
Tbsp onion and garlic dip
Sausage roll
Pickled onion, cut in half
Cheese string
Half a cup of chocolate milk (sugar free)

Cucumber sticks
Cheese string
Handful of tortilla chips
Small bag of fridge raiders
2 large chunks of cheddar cheese
Blackcurrant squash (sugar free)

2 chocolate mini rolls
About 300mls of semi skimmed milk

At the moment DC on a bit of a hot food strike, and never a big fan of water but still managed two refills today of water bottle.

FTEngineerM · 25/04/2021 20:25

10m old boy.. he seems to be a black hole at the moment but:

Breakfast - two pieces of toast one with lemon curd one with raspberry jam and a banana. 6oz bottle.

Snack - 100g raspberries, a handful of blueberries and two melty sticks (ellas)

Lunch - one mini quiches (veg and bacon), 50g chicken, pot of jelly with fruit, mini pasty thing we made, half an egg.

Snack - 4oz bottle and oaty banana bar (ellas again I think).

Dinner: two mini quiches, blueberries and raspberries, potato waffle, handful of grapes, two melty sticks.

6oz bottle before bed.

Lots of quiche because we made them this morning but they’re gone now. It’s usually a bit of what we have though like lamb and lentil curry/lasagna/aubergine curry you get the picture.

FTEngineerM · 25/04/2021 20:26

Ah - organix that’s them for the oaty bar not Ella sorry.

headintheproverbial · 25/04/2021 20:34

Both my kids as toddlers loved all fruit and would also reliably eat carrot (raw or cooked), cucumber, peas, tomatoes, corn and broccoli.

Have you tried carrot and cucumber sticks with a dip? Ours like humous but you might find something better for you? I think the 'finger food' novelty of dipping helps.

Vicky1989x · 25/04/2021 20:39

My DD is 1 next week and today she had:-

Breakfast:- 5oz milk, 1 weetabix with cows milk, a pouch of fruit purée and a biscotti biscuit

Snack:- banana rice cake

Lunch:- Tomato and mozzarella spaghetti, a yogurt, banana and orange chunks

Snack:- 6oz milk before nap

Dinner:- chicken curry and rice, apple and banana purée and a oaty bar

6oz of milk before bed.

Megan2018 · 25/04/2021 20:42

Today was an unusually shit day, DD 19 months is teething second molars and has barely eaten anything as a meal, just snacks- breadsticks, most of an apple, grapes, 2 crumpets, too much salad cream (don’t ask!), 2 fromage frais, 2 babybel, slice of ham.
It’s been one of those days.

Yesterday she had a normal day:
(B) Bitesize shredded wheat with cows milk
Half a croissant

(S) Toddler biscuit
Babybel

(L) Pasta bolognese
Watermelon

(S) Apple -ate about half a small one
Bit of leftover easter choc

(T) Beans on toast
Grapes (loads)
Fromage Frais

On a normal day she eats loads (doesn’t leave a scrap at nursery) so I try not to worry when she has an off day. She still BF’s too so gets something from that.
Vegetables are our issue, she eats fruit but not much veg (although there was a fair bit in the bolognese).

Bluey18 · 25/04/2021 20:46

My 2 year old (with cows milk and soya allergies) had:

Breakfast: porridge and blueberries, cup of oat milk

Snack: Organix gruffalo biscuits

Lunch: Chicken sandwich and a handful of raw carrot sticks (which she only eats if I pretend she is a bunny rabbit who needs to eat carrots or she can't hop 🙈)

Snack: Banana and a few spoons of almond yogurt

Dinner: Fish fingers, potato waffle, baked beans with mashed brocoli mixed in them.

Bedtime: Small cup of oat milk

Today was a mediocre day foodwise. She'll eat fruit no problem but is an absolute nightmare to get veg into, I either have to turn it into a game or hide it in sauces etc.

thenonsensepotter · 25/04/2021 20:51

15 months

B- four strawberries, scrambled egg with smoked mackerel tomatoes and various herbs
Snack- couple of rice cakes
L- roast beef sweet potatoes and a fruit yoghurt pouch
D- cheese toast is- only about three bites. Half a slice of ham and a few roast parsnips
200ml milk before bed.
He looks about 2 years older and weighs 13kg so is well into his grub but doesn’t hesitate to fling anything he doesn’t fancy. Which he apparently never does at nursery. Grrrr

KurtWilde · 25/04/2021 20:58

A fruit winder
Half a bag of Pom bears
A fruit shoot
Half a scrambled egg
2 bites of toast
Half a Turkey dinosaur
3 cups of milk

19 months old. I wish he'd eat more but he's thriving and has bags of energy so...

Caspianberg · 25/04/2021 21:46

12 months

Breakfast: Porridge, whole banana
Lunch: toast with houmous. Watermelon, cucumber.
Snack: oat bar thing
Dinner: small slice cheese and veg omelette, beetroot, green beans. Satsuma. Cracker

TheOneWithTheBigNose · 25/04/2021 21:49

My 2 year old has had a slice of toast, an apple, a banana and a bowl of Greek yoghurt. So yours is doing well in comparison.

Seriously

yellowmuma · 26/04/2021 08:31

Yesterday my son ate

Breakfast - milk, a few blackberries and a quarter slice of toast
Snack - custard cream biscuit and blueberries
Lunch - the cheese out of a cheese sandwich (not the bread) and some breadsticks
Dinner - dairylea sandwich, blueberries, grapes, yoghurt

He’s a terrible eater at the moment, every bit of food goes on the floor. He goes most days without eating hardly anything. He still has 7/8oz milk morning and night so I might cut that down a bit to see if it encourages him to eat more.

BEE08 · 26/04/2021 12:40

Yesterday my son who is 23 months ate:
Breakfast- Cunchy nut cornflakes- all
Lunch - Ham Sandwiches - only the bread
Chicken bites - none
Salad - none
Snack - chocolate biscuit
Dinner - Sausage and beef burger tomato pasta - most

He is teething, so is not eating a lot at the moment.

LaTomatina · 26/04/2021 12:48

1 Weetabix with milk
1 piece of toast with peanut butter
A handful of blueberries
Some grapes
A couple of plain animal biscuits
A large portion of plain pasta

It was a wheat heavy day, for some reason. He was also offered various other things but refused. I'm not bothered, as on other days he will eat vegatables, rice, meat, fish, cheese etc...
