Breakfast - plain porridge

Snack - ellas kitchen banana fruit pouch & a Greek yoghurt

Lunch- cheese wrap, sugar free banana organix biscuit

Dinner- corn on the cob, two spoonfuls of potato with cheese, mini milk

She was offered strawberries at breakfast which she didn't touch, same with cucumber sticks at lunch. She will likely have some unsweetened muesli and milk before bed. I'm really struggling getting much fruit and veg in. How does the is compare to list other people's toddlers?

If you are wanting to get more fruit and veg into her you could try mixing in afruit puree with her porridge, or stewed fruit.

Would she have eaten some salad stuff actually in her wrap?

Hidden veg in eg pasta sauces - make a basic tomato sauce but add any veg you've got - carrots, peppers, sweet potato, squash, courgettes (always had to peel those as the green bits gave it away!!) and then blitz it once cooked.

Mine always preferred a range of fruit chopped up so they could have eg a slice of apple, and orange segment, a grape, half a strawberry. There seemed to be something off-putting about having to eat a single type. Also if I just left it on a plate on the side and ignored it, they seemed happy to 'steal' bits.

I'm gobsmacked by how much kids are eating! My 6 year old yesterday ate :
B: 2 buttermilk American pancakes with a glass of milk
L: 1 slice of toast with baked beans on it
A sliced apple
Snack: 1 chocolate biscuit
D: 2/3 of a chicken italia burger, 1 roast potato, 3 parsnips, 3 broccoli florets, 2 cauliflower cheese florets, carrots and a mini milk.

SRK16 · 26/04/2021 13:08

18 month old:
Breakfast - carrot & cinnamon porridge with dried apricots and dates (I try and get as much fruit and beg into his porridge as I can as at least if he refuses stuff later he’s off to a good start!)
Snack- strawberry Organix oat bar
Lunch- cheesy pasta with broccoli and asparagus (he only ate a little bit- leftover from dinner last night so maybe bored of it), half a bagel thin with cream cheese and cucumber, sliced chicken breast, one strawberry
Afternoon snack will be a banana and Greek yogurt
Dinner will be steamed cod, sweet potato, peas & sweet corn.

Love how discussing what toddlers eat is stealth boasting!

DD is at nursery today so will no doubt eat everything no problem including all her veg

Amrythings · 26/04/2021 13:18

22 months, he spent yesterday trying to eat the entire fruit bowl and I've had to apologise to nursery in advance for the horrible nappy that's going to happen later.

Yesterday
Breakfast: pear and bowl of Cheerios, cup of milk gleefully flung.
Snack: ate the sliced apple, flung the cheese
Lunch: scrambled egg, toast and carrot sticks ignored in favour of having a screaming tantrum and another pear.
Snack: Ate his oat bar and then convinced his big sister to give him a full-size orange on top (at least she had the wit to not give him another pear)
Dinner: lamb tagline and couscous, a plum, and his dad's milkshake.

Oh, and between dinner and bed he got the grapes out of the fridge and insisted on having some of those too. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Following this thread for ideas, as my toddler (25 months old) just wants snacks! Wishing I had never given her a packet of Quavars. Haha

I’m not even going to say what she ate today. I will start again tomorrow!

HumunaHey · 26/04/2021 18:03

Breakfast- porridge with bananas and blueberries in. Then a bit of toast (half a slice)

Lunch - peanut butter sandwhiches

Snack - homemade banana muffin (homemade as he has allergies)

Dinner - will be salmon and pasta with sweetcorn and brocolli

ZoeMaye · 26/04/2021 18:08

2 sausage rolls
Blackcurrant squash (sugar free)

Half a cheese and ham sandwich with Mayo on granary
Grapes

Some daisies, and apparently a woodlouse (I did have a look but only saw daisies in between tightly clenched teeth, biscuits and water bottle were refused by throwing)

His siblings toenail, straight from the toe
(Was offered an ice cream but toe nail was obviously tastier)

One stick of pepper, about 1/8 of a teaspoon of mild salsa, 1/3 of a cheese string, one kernel of sweetcorn (chicken wrap was rejected)

(Dinner rejected on principle, water and milk rejected emphatically)
Blackcurrant squash (sugar free)

I think we are done but maybe some milk later.

Poppop4 · 26/04/2021 18:21

Breakfast - porridge with blueberries which she requested and then only ate 4 spoonfuls
Snack - oaty bar
Lunch - chicken, tomatoes, cucumber was apparently yuck so fed to the dog who also wouldn’t eat it. Crackers and cream cheese.
Snack- an angel cake slice
Dinner - fish cakes x2, peas & sweetcorn. Followed by a bowl of mixed fruit (kiwi, strawberries & melon) she’ll likely have a yoghurt too.
She’s generally a good eater when at home or at nursery but if we are out or at grandparents house she refuses to eat anything that’s not chips 🤷🏼‍♀️

partyring87 · 26/04/2021 18:25

@ZoeMaye straight from the toe 🤣🤣🤣 thats cracked me up

My DD2 who is 2.5 ate today:

Breakfast - 2 weetabix with oat milk and 3 large strawberries, a few mouthfuls of my scrambled egg and one mushroom which she chewed for half an hour then gave me back.

Snack - banana and 3/4 of my hobnob which she snatched out of my hand

Lunch - grapes, quorn cocktail sausages, couple of oatcakes, some grated cheese, was also offered some cherry tomatoes which she threw at the cat

Afternoon snack - offered her hummus and carrot sticks which she usually likes but they ended up in the sandpit somehow

Tea - we had tacos, she had them deconstructed and ate everything except the lettuce which she dramatically threw off her plate shouting DEEEEEESGUSTY (her current favourite word)

Drinks - water with each meal and milk x2.

Also ate 3 things he found on floor after I'd vacuumed which he found hilarious, dread to think what it could've been.

Maggiesfarm · 26/04/2021 21:02

Blimey, both of mine used to eat proper dinners at two as well as breakfast and a good lunch. Now I wonder if I was doing something wrong :-). though they are healthy, slim adults (and still have good appetites).

I did know a child who would eat virtually nothing at all and that was a terrible worry for her parents so I sympathise. She started to eat properly later on when she had a little sister who always ate well.

Thesagacontinues · 26/04/2021 21:03

I feel better after reading this thread and seeing others also eat very little. Its been really worrying me how DS (almost 2) can eat such little some days.

Today:
B - 1/2 slice wholemeal toast. 1 spoonful of cereal
S - 1 banana
L - some chorizo, a sausage roll, a youghurt, a few wotsits
S - crackers
D - wouldnt eat anything despite me making pasta which he loves.
He loved for toast later in the evening and had half a slice.

Really bothers me when he doesnt eat his dinner.

TheOneWithTheBigNose · 26/04/2021 21:05

Why would them eating three proper meals mean you were doing something wrong? Of course you know you weren’t: I wish mine would even eat one proper meal. It’s tough going. My older 2 would eat three proper meals at this stage too. My youngest’s food refusal comes hand in hand with some other developmental concerns.
Maggiesfarm · 26/04/2021 21:44

I'm so sorry, TheOneWithABigNose. I shouldn't have blurted out like that. I hope things improve for your youngest and can understand how concerned you are.

TheOneWithTheBigNose · 26/04/2021 21:51

No worries @Maggiesfarm. Just having a day where I’m overwhelmed with worry about him today so it hit a nerve.

boomboom1234 · 26/04/2021 22:00

My just turned three year old had
B: cup of whole milk & 1.5 slices of wholemeal bread with homemade hazelnut/cocoa butter and an easy peeler orange
L: ham sandwich, pepper strips, cucumber strips, a few peanuts, cheese followed by small bowl of raspberries and cream
D: chilli, rice, sour cream and cheese and some fresh pineapple for pudding

Maggiesfarm · 26/04/2021 22:58

That sounds all right Boomboom.
