Not sure I want to hear the answers to these questions but here goes...

Which age did you find your child to be more challenging with temper tantrums etc? 2 years old or 3 years old or any other age?

I may be bias as I have a 3 year old currently who is crying that he has wet hair, he wet his hair and is trying to rearrange the front room furniture 🙄🙃

I really can't remember the age but I know there was a lot around then! Sympathies!

I know it doesn't help now but it does get better! School helps.

3 with my first. He was struggling with speech and potty training. He’s not NT and was like a very sweet big baby at 2 and a frustrated toddler at three. He’s now an absolutely gorgeous 7 yr old!

My second turns three soon. He’s NT, very vocal and potty trained before 2 so I’ve high hopes that 3 will be easier. He’s been having some whoppers of terrible 2 tantrums recently.

More frequent tantrums at 2 but the tantrums at 3 are bigger and go on forever.

As a childcare for 40 odd years, I would categorically say the eorrst time us the 6 months before they start school. Especially for Autumn, Winter born children ( and girls seem to be worse than boys).
At least it stops when they get to school. 😁😁😁😁

One of my DC it was age 2 definitely, the other was worst at 3.5

Lazypuppy · 05/04/2021 09:48

3 is worse than 2

BertieBotts · 05/04/2021 09:50

3 by a LONG way.

My son was an Angel til 4 and a half then he became impossible! We thought we were so lucky to have not had the terrible twos or threes - how naive we were! All of a sudden he turned into a screaming stamping nightmare! It was on and off til he was about 9! Then it went full turbo at 10 and a half when he hit puberty. Luckily for us by the time he turned 11 it had all settled and he's been a dream since (15 now) every child is different but they ALL go through it at some point - we just have to grin and bear it!

My LG is a week off turning 3 and in the past week we've had the biggest tantrums I have ever seen!! Over the smallest of things as well. I thought I'd escaped the terrible 2s but think I'm in for it if the past week is anything to go by!!! Another one on the way as well so it will be an interesting time for us all! I totally agree though every child is so different it's difficult to predict!

Trying to remember that far back but I think it was when my son was 2. Very hard work and huge meltdowns over very tiny things. It does get better though .

CreamFirstThenJamOnTop · 06/04/2021 13:02

4!
Seriously, my Dd turned from cheeky but generally sweet toddler to demanding, angry and rude child. Awful.

Personally found 2 much harder with ds2. Ds1 honestly was always easy, ds2 made up for it!!

ShutUpAlex · 06/04/2021 13:15

Mine is 7 this year and no tantrums yet! Anticipating turbulent teenage years though if she’s anything like me.

Temp023 · 06/04/2021 13:18

15 is by far the worst..

KellyMarieTunstall2 · 06/04/2021 13:19

My son turned into a tantrumming tornado at 2 and is just turning the corner (please god) at 5 and a half.
My daughter is 3 and is a whirling dervish of trouble, tantrums, back chat and occasional violence, hair pulling, smacking and kicking.

3.5 is the devil’s age. They get so bossy.

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 06/04/2021 15:24

I have a 2 year old and a 3 year old. Need help 😂 3 year old is by far the easiest one to deal with as I can bribe reason with him.

DramaAlpaca · 06/04/2021 15:29

DS1 was horrible at 2 (OK, not all the time). He'd throw the most impressive tantrums. One day he got so cross he held his breath too long and passed out, which was terrifying for both me and him. Honestly, he was easier as a teenager than he was at 2.

I don't remember either DS2 or DS3 having a tantrum ever, maybe because DS1's efforts were so horrendous I've blocked everything else out!

So 2, definitely. At least you can reason to some extent with a three year old.

BadMudda · 06/04/2021 15:35

Definitely two..

They don't call it the terrible twos for nothing..
