Baby outgrown baby bath and we only have a shower

My little girl is 5 months and has now outgrown her baby bath. She absolutely loves her bath so I feel a bit guilty now that I can’t give her one every night.

I have tried to take her in the shower with me but she just screams the house down. I have also tried putting a bath seat in the shower and lying her on this and showering her but again she hates it.

Iv looked at these pop up baths but we really don’t have that big a bathroom for storage.

Anyone any advice on what you do with your babies when you only have a shower or any products I could try?

I've known people who've used a little paddling pool.

They're flexible so nice and soft and my DD still liked to go in it up to about 6 - squashed right into it!

Laundry basket (without holes obviously...), plastic storage box, washing up tub for a sit up splash...

Is it possible to find a plug for the shower (you can get flexible ones for caravans) and then make a little bath in the bottom? So not using the shower attachment directly on her? You will get quite wet sitting next to her on the floor outside to hold her but that worked for us when we stayed in a caravan a few times.

Plastic box or tub in bottom of shower. Fill it before she gets in.

We didn't have a bath and mine used the baby bath (sitting up) until they were about 3 when they tolerated the shower.

Im still stuffing my 18 month old into the baby shnuggle bath - though they do a larger toddler version too.
She prefers it to the actual bath as it’s deeper and it’s not slippy (we found the big bath was still slippy with a bath mat).

We only have showers and use an Ikea baby bath for our 3 and 5 year olds, have done since birth. The 5 year old can still sit fine in it and he has very long legs so a tiny baby will definitely have space in it!

Most baby baths should be fine until 18-24months tbh, not for full lying down but small toddlers you be able to sit in them fine for a while. Has yours really outgrow the bath, of just not space to swim?

I got the toddler version of the Schnuggle bath for my then 8 month old DD. Much better than having to fill the large tub in and she prefers it as its deeper.

We do also shower her (she's nearly 1 now). My DH bought a sucker attachment to stick lower down on the wall so the shower is closer.

We also used a trug tub, just kept sizing up when appropriate, and now we use the old tubs around the house for various things.

Kitchen sink!

Karibu folding baby bath on Amazon is great. Folds flat so can be kept anywhere you can put it behind a door etc.
I can still use this now for DS if I want and he’s 2 and a half.

Yeah she’s definitely outgrown it, it’s a nuby one with a recline bit in it so nowhere for her to really sit up and her legs now hanging over the edge and it’s like there has been a flood in my bathroom when she comes out of it haha! She does sit unaided but still a bit unsteady in the bath but another few weeks I’m sure she will be fine. Thanks again will have a look at all the baths suggested :)

We just had a John Lewis baby bath and DS was in it until 2.5 when we moved to a house with a bath.

We just had to hold our dc sitting up for the while in between outgrowing their reclined support and being able to sit unaided. But I actually found that much easier on my back than it would've been trying to do it leaning in over a bath edge.

Large plastic tub - the kind you use for diy/storing logs are good. I used the kitchen sink until about 8 months, saves your back

Tub trug and be careful when emptying it so you don’t flood the floor (it dried out after three days).

We used the kitchen sink - lovely for them to be at eye level and good for our backs!

Use a flexible gardening trug/horse feed trug, about £8 at a gardening centre or agricultural store.

We've used for all three of mine when little to save using the bath as it means you can safely get the water deeper for them and to stay warm (you still need to support baby whilst in trug obviously)

Then when no longer used for bath can use for muddy wellies etc in boot of car or toys or in garden etc. We used to take ours when went to stay away at family/holiday cottage as useful to transport stuff in and then meant we had suitable bathing facilities. I bought a good sized one and could fit baby in til at least 1yr.

We only have a shower and use a schnuggle toddler bath. Works perfectly, ds is 14 months and loads of room.
