Hi all
My lb is 8
The other night he took himself up to brush his teeth & go to bed i gave him a hug and finished my cuppa.
Then said to my oh, im gona go tuck him in, to which he replied leave him you don’t need to do that he’s 8
What do others do with children of similar age?
My usual routine is to take the up have a hug/ kiss and a little chat then say goodnight

Ds is 8 and we still do a story and bedtime cuddle night night etc.

Dd is 17 and I can’t remember when we stopped with her. Probably about 10 ish.

If I stay at my mother's (obvs not this year) she will still tuck m in. I'm 47 Grin

My 12 yo still has a cuddle at night time. I think she needs it more now than ever with hormones kicking in (spots etc) and starting high school. I think she had a general out-of-sorts feeling and occasionally will come to sleep in with us or her sister for companionship/comfort if she's bothered by something. During a quiet bedtime cuddle she's more open to telling me what's bothering her. I hope that never ends like with my mum
