DS is almost 2. We've just noticed a bruise all down one side, what could cause this?! I would've thought it would be protected in his nappy.

Whats the childcare situation? Does he have siblings? Does he like to put his hands in his own nappy? Has he has a bout of unexplained crying or fallen and hurt himself and you've not realised he's hurt his privates because you were busy checking his forehead for example?

Snowbeau · 12/09/2020 16:17

Thanks for replying.

He goes to a childminder who hasn't reported any falls. Nothing caught or stuck and seems just strange for a bump injury. He is so uncomfortable with it. He's also now developed a temperature and lethargic. No clue if they are all related. 111 says a and e

Then do as they say op! What are you waiting for?

Soubriquet · 12/09/2020 16:36

If 111 say go to A&E, you go!

You never know with a toddler and they can go down hill so quickly

MJMG2015 · 12/09/2020 16:40

A&E because it could be a twist or something.

Hope it's better soon- poor mite.

Snowbeau · 12/09/2020 18:04

I didn't say we hadn't gone...

Waiting for blood results now

Ignore the unhelpful posters. It's a funny place in here today 😳

DioneTheDiabolist · 12/09/2020 18:46

How is she on a wind up? Confused There was almost two hours between the a&e post and her reply. I would think a lethargic 2yo would be seen pdq in the current climate.

Starlightexpress1 · 12/09/2020 18:49

Hope he’s ok!

Lugubelenus · 12/09/2020 18:51

Poor little fella, I hope he's okay.
Toddlers are always knocking themselves and falling over.

Westiegirl3 · 12/09/2020 18:53

I'm glad you've gone along to A&E, hope he's ok

ApolloandDaphne · 12/09/2020 18:53

A child in a nappy would not have a bruise on their penis without something out of the ordinary happening. That is beyond the normal for bruising. I would expect a full child protection. Investigation on the basis of this. I am an ex child protection social worker.

DangerMouse17 · 12/09/2020 18:54

Hope he's ok OP. Let us know how you get on.

SirVixofVixHall · 12/09/2020 18:54

Hope all ok OP.

Chocolateandcarbs · 12/09/2020 18:54

This could be balinitis. Needs antibiotics.

tiredanddangerous · 12/09/2020 18:58

This is the second thread I've read today about a bruised penis.

SummerHouse · 12/09/2020 18:59

Hope all is ok. Flowers

RivkaMumsnet · 12/09/2020 19:01

Just noting that although we can never be sure, we really have no reason to believe this OP isn't genuine.

dododotheconga · 12/09/2020 19:06

Hope he's ok op

Snowbeau · 12/09/2020 19:33

I'm petrified something horrific has happened.

I've got very poor signal here and my mind is racing. He's had a urine sample and is clear.
Nobody has mentioned social services to me yet although of course if they want to investigate then I'll not block or stop anything.

I've got a 2yo whose not had dinner or napped today so lack of replying is me focusing on him
