School uniform for big busted girl

I know it's not aibu post but putting it here for traffic
I'm struggling to find white school shirts to fit my 12 year old daughter. She is in adult size 12 normally but I've had to send back 3 lots of shirts now as none of them fit her around the beast.
I need to get her measured for a bra properly as she had a really big growth spurt over lock down but no shops near me are doing this yet so it's making it more difficult to find the right fit. She used to wear 34c bras but they don't fit anymore so is living in her sport bras
Any ideas where I can get short sleeved shirts from

Bravissimo. Not cheap by any means but they will fit her properly as as a woman that was very busty at 12, she wants shorts that fit well and don't gape or are so big round to fit the bust that they drown the rest of her like a tent.

Also OP, and I mean this in a nice way, is she overweight or just tall and built this way? Size 12 at age 12 sounds quite big, and it would help with the bustiness if she is overweight to lose a few lbs and maintain a healthy weight.

Also coming from someone who could have done with my mother taking control of my diet at that age and making healthy adjustments. If I were a healthy weight through my teens rather than a stone or two overweight then my bust would have been significantly smaller! Feel free to ignore if that's not the case.

I'm really surprised that there aren't any available from your normal retailer/supplier that go above a size 12 given they have to fit sixth formers?

Booborbust has been recommended on here for sizing.

Which shops are you buying them from? My 12 year old is well developed for her age (thanks early puberty!) and we have no problem getting them from the uniform shop. They do a wide range of shirts which are all sized by bust measurement rather than dress size.

Lol, I was a 32DD at 13, and a 34F by 18. Some of us just have massive knockers.
peonyblossom · 17/08/2020 14:11

@LittleGwyneth Yes I get that. I'm currently a 36H and a size 12 everywhere else - I'm definitely one of life's busty people!

Just an adult size 12 at age 12 and a bust that big could mean she's carrying a bit of extra weight - like I was in my teens - and losing a bit if that's the case may help with the size of her chest!

Mumma12345 · 17/08/2020 14:13

No she's not a overweight, she's tall at 5f 10 and still growing and wide shoulders, she also plays a lot of sports rugby, netball, cycling and swimming so she's mostly muscle.
Your not the 1st person to think she's overweight when finding out what size clothes she's in but when at the Dr's a few weeks ago they said for her height and frame she is perfect

Could you try sewing a white hook and eye between some of the shirt buttons to improve the fit?

peonyblossom · 17/08/2020 14:16

Fair enough OP. I'd definitely have a look at bravissimo if budget allows. They do fit nicely I've used them for years.

premiumshoes · 17/08/2020 14:17

Get her to measure herself and work from there. There is plenty Information around the Internet on how to measure. As for the shirts, white shirts/blouses are literally a staple wardrobe item and available in a whole array of sizes. It should not be difficult to find one to fit. Women with boobs wear them all the time.

peachgreen · 17/08/2020 14:18

Gosh, so many new posters lately having trouble finding school uniform for their large busted young teenagers. It's clearly quite a problem.

minnieok · 17/08/2020 14:18

I bought DD's last ones from Asda office/ladies section

Mumma12345 · 17/08/2020 14:19

Ive tried the proper uniform shop but you can only go by appointment and they are only doing 1 school a day and ours school day is a Thursday but can't get a appointment till the day before they go back so screwed if they don't have any to fit plus I want to get it all sorted ASAP as have another 3 to buy for as well luckily they are still at primary

She's probably struggling with length/shoulders as bust takes up length. I'm a 28K. I have worn men's shirts when I need a tie (band mostly) and a 14.5/15 works quite well as a busty 12 with fairly sporty shoulders.

lillylemons · 17/08/2020 14:21

can you measure her for a bra yourself? I had to measure dd13 recently
i watched a youtube video on how to measure before doing it

This, they either fit her bust and shoulders and are too short or they look like tents on her,

If she's 12 and still growing, does anyone in your family have a sewing machine and the skill to put some darts in a bigger sized one? Would probably be a cheaper option when school shirts not the most inspiring bit of clothing.

Serendipper · 17/08/2020 14:43

Go to bravissimo, I was busty at that age and couldn’t get school uniform shirts that fitted (pink gingham!) I had to wear one that was either much too big or one that fitted elsewhere but gaped. I just kept my jumper on at all times and would be boiling!

diavlo · 17/08/2020 14:46

I’ve got my dd’s for this year from M&S. They do up to a 41” and this fits her fine, just a bit big around the waist though gets tucked in.

She’s a size 10 and 30G/H bust.

FelicityBeedle · 17/08/2020 14:47

I agree if you can sew at all you might be best off buying big and adding darts to adjust the fit. Or if she only needs a couple a seam stress might not be too expensive

Sophiafour · 17/08/2020 14:51

Couple of the comments made me laugh as well, some of us got to 34DD at age 11 and more or these stayed there for most of our lives. (Didn't grow any taller either, to my lifelong annoyance.) I was also going to suggest Bravissimo, or Pepperberry (same company, I think?). They're not cheap, but they do sometimes turn up on ebay, if that would be an option.

BlueJava · 17/08/2020 15:06

Another vote for Bravissimo see here They are expensive but will last.

AuditAngel · 17/08/2020 15:35

uniform 247 they don’t give the length on the size chart, but say to email any questions

grey12 · 17/08/2020 17:14

Another vote for bravissimo. You can even get a size up less busty if you don't want too snuggly.

Shirts are always the most difficult thing. I have a small back with big boobs and remember having clothes in a range between size 8 all the way to 14 depending on fabric stretch

artisanparsnips · 17/08/2020 17:16

John Lewis. We've managed to get shirts for DD (30F) which are a bit big, but which don't look like tents on her.
