Chicken and...?

My LO hates chicken but want to feed her some.

I have tried it with avacado. First time she was okay next week she didn't want it.

I tried it with yoghurt which she did eat but I read online not to give yoghurt and chicken together?

I have tried it with rice / potatoe but still no.

Anyone else have any other ideas I could try?

How old is she? Why are you so desperate to feed her chicken?

Heischeatingisnthe · 12/08/2020 15:18

Chicken and yoghurt?! Are you weaning?
Chicken soup? Mild chicken curry? Roast chicken with gravy?

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 12/08/2020 15:20

Chicken and yoghurt?! What?!

Maybe try it in a creamy cheesy pasta

Sweet potato mushed goes well

Maybe she doesn't like chicken. It's not the end of the world (unless you're the owner of KFC or Nandos).

TeddyIsaHe · 12/08/2020 15:27

Why do you need to give chicken? Dd hates eggs, so I just don’t force her to eat them.

Children are their own people you know, they have opinions and preferences, even when small. I’m not sure why you’re pushing this.

bloodywhitecat · 12/08/2020 15:28

I'd skip the chicken for now and try again in a few weeks time.

Soubriquet · 12/08/2020 15:29

IHaveBrilloHair · 12/08/2020 15:32

She's refused chicken once so now she hates it?Confused

rottiemum88 · 12/08/2020 15:33

This is one of the oddest posts I've ever read. Step away from the chicken...

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 12/08/2020 15:34

step away from the chicken....

😂😂😂

TeddyIsaHe · 12/08/2020 15:37

I need to know the reason for the chicken madness. Do come back and divulge op.

katie43210 · 12/08/2020 15:58

Only logical reason that comes to mind is you eat a lot of chicken as a family and want to be able to eat the same things? Give her time, tastes sometimes change and everybody doesn't like the same things.

Kitkat05 · 12/08/2020 16:25

ok people.. just asked.. she has really low iron and was told to feed her chicken now and then. She doesn't like meat either so thought to try with chicken again.

LionLily · 12/08/2020 16:26

I thought you gave red meat for low iron? And chicken for protein?

LionLily · 12/08/2020 16:27

So like spag Bol, shepherd's pie, stir fry beef and veg

GreyishDays · 12/08/2020 16:28

Look at other high iron sources maybe? Will she eat mince at all or eggs? Beans and dried fruit are also high in iron.

How about cold sliced turkey in a sandwich (the bought stuff, has less texture to it than if you do it yourself).

Surely no reason to not eat it with yoghurt though.

GreyishDays · 12/08/2020 16:31

Oh and packet breakfast cereals are all fortified.

How old is she and does she take a supplement?

GreyishDays · 12/08/2020 16:32

@LionLily

Red meat and chicken are both night protein foods and also high in iron. Red meat slightly more so but chicken is still a good source of iron.
GreyishDays · 12/08/2020 16:32

*high not night!

Kitkat05 · 12/08/2020 16:34

@GreyishDays thank you. I haven't tried cold slice turkey. Will give that a go

Kitkat05 · 12/08/2020 16:35

@GreyishDays 10months. She likes baby cereal so I do give that.

A curry could down well, my LO loves a very mild curry. Shred the chicken so it's a part of the sauce and not 'identifiable' and you can grate any number of veg in there, broccoli, chickpeas etc to up the iron content if that's what you're concerned about. You could do one based on tomatoes or a creamier coconut one, depending on what you think your LO would prefer.

Kitkat05 · 12/08/2020 16:36

@Sexnotgender I'm not desperate.. sorry if my post came across like that.
