Having the baby fall asleep in my arms with a smile on his face.

His kisses
The way he'll run upto you and give you a cuddle.
The way he says mama...even when he wants to get down out of his high chair, like i'm being told off
His gorgeous giggles.
Ds is 20 months & even though he has tantrums he's still the best thing ever

DS is just 12 months. I love when he wakes up from a nap and he's woozy and disorientated, his fluffy (sparse!) hair standing up in perplexed peaks of fuzz. He has a grizzle and I feed him to bring him gently back into the world, then his eyelids close again, I wrap a blanket around us and he dozes off to sleep again for another ten minutes, cradled in my arms as i rock him and sing softly. Then he suddenly wriggles and wakes up properly and gets waddling.

Today I took him to the swings for the first time. It was late afternoon, the sky was so dazzlingly blue, the park lushly green and the sinking sun cast a warm glow. Each time DS swung towards me I kissed him on the nose before pushing him off again - he was whooping with laughter, so excited and amazed at his weighlessness and ability to fly. I thought my heart would burst with our shared happiness. I somehow know that I'll carry that memory in my bones until the day I die.

Sorry to be sentimental...
