Having the baby fall asleep in my arms with a smile on his face.

Having our own little family. I love going out with them all. Either just to the shops or out to lunch/dinner the farm/holidays etc.

I love seeing them laugh and play together.

I love it when we're in the car and they are sitting next to each other in the back. Its so cute.

I love their faces and bodies. They are so soft and cuddly. Perfect to look at really.

I love dressing them up to look so adorable. Shallow of me but true.

I love it when we're all just having fun being our family. On the swings, dh playing football with the dc's or us all playing a game.

I also LOVE picking ds up from school. Especially when we can walk.

phdlife · 02/10/2007 22:20

yes I am, PGL - like you're not [snort]

I'm even in love with things like his little hoodies, his first sippy cup, etc etc etc!

better stop before someone thumps me for being so wet

Tortington · 02/10/2007 22:27

i love more than i can tell you- the teenage years. i love , love, love it. i love the music, the non stop school gossip from dd " oh x did this today and miss said that she had dentention and its so unfair because y said it first and he is such a GEMO but miss is always like that last week all i said was that it was green and she shouted at me i mean its not fair is it ? anyway z said that i could go for a sleepover and a,b,c,d are going to it and i promise there are no boys there and ...." there is no pause or full stop or comma.

i love that they each have a style fo their own.

AND i REALLY love the discussions we have over dinner- thatusually turn to sex or drugs or politics or religeon.
i love that i have a self declared bhuddist i love that i have a dd who bakes cakes when i don't and never will. i love that my son has gained well paid employment and likes it and has had a steady relationship for TWO years.
i love that my youngest 14 yo ds gives me a wink as he leaves the room. i love that he asks me if i am ok when he is concerned about me.

the short version is - i love the individuals that i helped shape. and i know they love me very much becue they show it in the nice things they do every single day.

Aw, Custy, you great daft soppy thing, you. Gives me hope for the years ahead.

Like mildmannered, I love the way ds is thrilled to see me and races towards me in the playground, almost knocking me over. I like holding his hand and walking down the street. I didn't realise, before ds, quite how endlessly fascinating your own child is (to you, obviously, I'm not trying to persuade anyone else to start a PhD in my own ds).

Tortington · 03/10/2007 00:27

i have my moments

PregnantGrrrl · 03/10/2007 08:08

The way he's becoming his own person and quite willful, but still needs and loves us loads.

The way he curls round my tummy to go to sleep.

The look on his face when he learns something new.

The way he squeals and chases the dog.

Everytime he reaches for a cuddle or my hand.

How he dances to music on adverts / in shops / the radio / films / toys etc

When he goes to sleep.

SharpMolarBear · 03/10/2007 09:27

There's a lot of this itchy eye stuff going round
As a mum of a baby I really appreciate the older child / teenager stuff

I like watching ds change and grow - everyone who says 'It's only a phase' is right. The next phase is always entertaining!

tcmummy · 03/10/2007 11:59

Little hungry squeaks when I take him off the boob too soon.

Flappy arms

Giggles that nearly make him cry with laughter

Sunshinecursedmummy · 03/10/2007 12:01

Oh yes the dancing. I love the dancing.

SharpMolarBear · 03/10/2007 12:28

ohh tcmummy

i love that DD2 (2.1) is just so beautiful and everyone comments on it, i love her hair and i love the way she give me "duddles" i love the way she loves us (especially her daddy) I love the way she is learning to talk, i love the little smile she does just because (i think its her way of saying, i love you), i love the cuddles, i love the queit time, i love that she can be a live wire.

I love the fact that DD1 is her own person (because of/despite her rather useless mother) i love her independence and her "attitude" and willing to stand up for what she thinks is right. I love the fact that she rang me the other day to tell me she was going on the pill, and that her boyfriend was mortified and thought i was going to punch him. I love the way she is soo pretty and doesnt realise it. We have a turbulent relationship, we are soooo alike its untrue, but i love the way that she still calls me MUMMY!!! I love the way she can be flighty and giggly and OTT and sometimes go to far, dont know where she gets that from

Its great being a mum, its hard but its great.

DD1 is 17 by the way

SharpMolarBear · 03/10/2007 12:35

i actually at first glance thought you were talking about the same dd - the 2.1yo
became a bit clearer when I put my eyes in

lucyellensmum · 03/10/2007 15:26

oh and i love the way dd1 and i communicate and no one else gets it, even her daddy has to get me to interpret

tcmummy · 03/10/2007 21:26

awww LEM that's lovely about your 17yr old

lucyellensmum · 04/10/2007 16:31

tcmummy, of course there are times when i could happily throttle her!

tasja · 04/10/2007 16:40

I love it when my DD laughs (I cried the first time I heard her laugh!)
I love it when she gives me a kiss.
I warms my heart to see her so excited when DH gets home and her hands are streched out to him and she says "Dadda, Dadda"
To see her happy and smiling.
To teach her something new.
can go on and on....

diplodocus · 04/10/2007 16:42

The way when she lies on the bed at bedtime DD (23 m) pats the space beside her and says "Mummy lie down".

lucyellensmum · 04/10/2007 17:47

they are just bundles of loveliness aren't they.
