When did your baby start sleeping through the night?

Google says about 6-9 months old, but as a mom-to-be I'd rather read real stories and experiences.

What I mean by sleeping through the night is, when was the first 8 hour sleep you were able to get?

Reason I'm asking is, that will mark the time I can resume my previous exercise regimen, as sleep is an important part of recovery Grin

@2155User ha! That should say 12 hours!

@peachgreen

Haha! There was me getting all jealous that not only do you get a good night sleep, you also get most the day in peace as well!

Still hasn't happened for my 8.5mo old. Has gone from waking every 2.5 hours to waking 2-3 times from 8pm to 6am which is an improvement I guess. Terrible napper and is forever fighting sleep. Oh and only I can get him to sleep. Haven't slept more than 6 hours in a row since before labour... used to get 10 hours every night!

I feel like I may jinx it. My little one is 5 months next week and has been sleeping through since about 2 months I think. But I believe that to be rare. I'm waiting for the sleep regression to hit like a tonne of bricks as I won't be used to it and fully expect it not to last. Especially after this post.

From about 7 weeks then it all went to shit at 4 months. If I got one decent sleep per week from 4-17 months I considered myself lucky.

DS is seven months today and has only fully slept through twice. He generally just wakes up to have his dummy put back in a few times, but it's still knackering.
