Note to self - get off mn and do some bloody revision!

RosaLuxembourg · 01/10/2007 23:59

Mine is on October 18th.
I have done a little revision.
But only a little.

PollyLogos · 02/10/2007 06:10

I've done some revision but not a lot!Not as nervous as I was for the first exams I did two years ago and hoping that I remember substantial amounts from the course work!

Its a shame I just don't have more time as i have done very well on the TMAs this year but September is always a really, really busy time for me.

I am taking a big risk this time and only studying certain chapters/aspects of the course. I'll either get a distinction or pass 4 i think!

Good luck to everyone!

Worryingly I am really calm, trying my best to revise but keep getting distracted. Good luck everyone, I am sure we will all do well. Lilibet got your notes this morning thanks am ploughing on, glad mind map is of help, I will be relying on it I think.

bubbleandsqueak · 02/10/2007 16:29

Oh my god I've got my French oral and written exam on Monday coming - sending everyone out there in the same situation as me positive vibes.

The good news is that I managed to pass all my TMA's, all 9 of them (found out yesterday) so it all hinge's on this final exam.

God I hope I pass, I can't bear the thought of having to do it again.

Good luck all

Will be thinking of you all. I had ECAs (End of Course Assignments) instead of exams this year. Thankfully they're done.

Go girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ETsmum · 05/10/2007 21:30

MarsLady am so you had the ECA route this year - KNOW it isn't easier per se, but better for my nerves I've found! Good luck with your results.

Lilibet - thanks for starting this thread Was just thinking that we must be kicking off in earnest with OU exams soon. Have you got a lucky something you could take with you, seeing as you haven't done an exam in a while? I have lucky earrings

Anyone got good tips for afternoon exams (sounds a weird q I know!) Just all my OU exams have been in the morning. Sure I will be a wreck by 2:30pm, having not eaten properly for lunch, and then feel shattered by the time I'm half way through.

Bubbkleandsqueak - only a couple more days and it will be all out of the way for you - and Oldiemum. I must look on the bright side re day/date for mine even tho I don't like it.....sure it was Fri 13th last year tho which was worse!

GOOD LUCK everyone

lilibet · 06/10/2007 14:32

I shouldn't be on here - really shouldn't!!

OP posts:
ETsmum · 06/10/2007 17:57

Nor me But have done a question from the Specimin Exam paper this aft and managed to write something......

Chilimama · 06/10/2007 23:26

Me neither....I am trying to ignore the piles of highlighted revision notes on my desk at the mo!

On the plus side I did a data interpretation exercise on the specimen paper earlier and got alomst full marks ......still crapping it about the actual exam though.

Sending good luck vibes to you all

me23 · 07/10/2007 18:47

hi I've got my k100 exam on the 11th! I'm so scared that I will fail! I passed all my TMAS with over 70% but I feel as if I don't know much. I can't remember what I've revised

OldieMum · 07/10/2007 19:03

How nice to see this thread. Thanks for thinking of us. My exam is tomorrow pm - the first one I've sat since 1984. My memory seems much poorer now - finding it very hard to remember names of authors and publication dates for the studies I need to cite. Let's hope my memory is helped by the adrenaline tomorrow. Good luck to you all.

ETsmum · 07/10/2007 19:40

Oldiemum - 23 years You will be FINE.....at least that's what I keep telling myself for the 12th. I blame having given birth on my now poor memoery - never used to need a diary etc pre ds. I reckon that a chunk of my brain left at the same time my placenta did.

This is my 1st level 3 OU exam, and the 1st time I have really had to try to remember refs for the exam (names, urk.) This time tomorrow Oldiemum and it will be all over

me23 - you will be fine too. Sounds like you have done excellently in the TMA's - I've done ok for my course too, but sure the exam is really going to let me down.

MUST try to do a bit more revision now...

TellusMater · 07/10/2007 19:45

Oh good luck to everyone doing exams this week.

My top tip - if you drink lots of coffee when revising, have half a cup before you go in. Not enough to make you need the loo, but enough to put you in a similar state.

Sounds wierd, but sort of makes sense.

TellusMater · 08/10/2007 09:42

Good luck today Oldiemum!

lilibet · 08/10/2007 11:38

Good luck Oldiemum and bubbleandsqueak - come and tell us how it went

Well, my preparation for my exam on Thursday is going really well. DH in Marseilles all weekend watching rugby - he's back late tonight but won't be able to speak for a week! Kids have both got yucky colds and coughs and I've got a throat infection for which I have lovely antibiotics which make me feel sick! Still at least I get three hours to myself Thursday afternoon even if it is in a delightful social club in Luton with a paper full of Maths problems to solve!!!

bubbleandsqueak · 08/10/2007 19:09

Well I've done it, the exams over, time to put down my pen and throw the books in the bin, the exam results are out in December. Can take lots of time out until then!

How did yours go oldimum?

Good luck to the rest of you, I off to open that bottle of wine, thinking of all of you.

dustystar · 08/10/2007 19:11

Cheers bubble

Hope it went ok for you oldiemum

And good luck everyone else.

OldieMum · 08/10/2007 19:56

Phew! Finished! The exam was fine - very fair questions - but tiring. I'd forgotten what writers' cramp feels like....

OldieMum · 08/10/2007 19:57

And I remembered the names.

prettypurpledaisy · 08/10/2007 20:14

Well done oldiemum, very jealous three days to go for mine, should be revising but can't as Eastenders is on followed by americas next top model. HELP!!
