vinegar-yes it's a problem when they have a b'day really close to xams.DD's is NYE so never gets summer garden things.
She has crap 2ndhand bike which she's always moaning about.

suedonim · 22/09/2007 16:52

We bought dd2 a laptop over the summer, for no reason except to assuage our guilt at forcing her to live in the Arsehole of the Empire, away from family and friends. So shoot me!

mine don't always have to wait unti Christmas/Birthday - 2 of them have birthdays right at the beginning of January (they don't get much for their birthdays usually).

That said, we don't have much big stuff. ds does have an (old version) x box and they all have bikes, but that's it.

I think they will get a wii between them this year, although ds has also expressed a need for an ipod (I don't think he knows why he wants one though).

theStallionOfSensibleness · 22/09/2007 16:53

yes re ipod
the idea of speakers in small ears worries me

brimfull · 22/09/2007 16:54

i want an ipod

Blandmum · 22/09/2007 16:54

Ds traded in his old gameboy and bought a second hand DS with his birthday money!

This makes me top Stallion I feel!

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 22/09/2007 16:55

i have an ipod. i just wrestled it out of dd3 and her little ears (is only a small nano)

Pollyanna · 22/09/2007 16:56

i want an ipod and a wii. i got a breadmaker last christmas, and a "nice pen" the christmas before.

Tamum · 22/09/2007 16:56

Sadlt not mb because he is younger than cod's ds, but you can be a close third

Blandmum · 22/09/2007 16:56

how much?

If I post I'll get spurned.

It isn't massive amounts a la Stadavarius or what ever

Go on, £750, which seems like a lot to me!

brimfull · 22/09/2007 16:56

i feel i will have finally arrived in the 21c when I master an ipod!

brimfull · 22/09/2007 16:57

yes it's a farkin lot!

We apid the same for dd's flute and that was only the headjoint ffs!

Cappuccino · 22/09/2007 16:58

rofl at idea my kids will ever get this stuff anyway

dd will be lucky to get the tamagochi she keeps whining on about

Blandmum · 22/09/2007 16:58

that much for the head ????

[swoons]

She's better keep you in your old age!

suedonim · 22/09/2007 16:59

But tbh, we don't normally get the dc big things outside their birthdays/Xmas. Life's a bit bleak out here and as dd is now at high school a laptop is coming in very handy. Plus it means I don't have to share this one hehehe.

As for Wii's being boys toys...guess what dd is getting for Xmas.

it's a sorry world

DirtyGertiefromnumber30 · 22/09/2007 17:02

HATE this - everytime i go around to a particular friends house, her ds always has some new 'big' toy for 'easter' or 'first day back at school after half term'. The other day he had been bought a new CD because he had a cold!!! FFS

Needless to say he is a complete brat and they have just moved him from state school to private because they think his behaviour stems from mixing with badly behaved children in his local primary! ha ha..
