Can I ask when/how quickly your baby walked?

Hey!
I know this is different for every baby - that’s but my 13 month old seems to be getting more confident on her feet and I’m very excited thinking walking could start soon!
It’s odd because she had zero interest in being on her feet, she wouldn’t even pull herself up until 3 weeks ago for the first time!!! Now she’s constantly pulling up and starting to cruise and it seems to have happened all very quickly. I wondered if anyone elses baby followed a similar pattern? I assumed since she pulled herself up so late she would be a really late walker (which could still be the case) but she seems to be really getting stronger every day!
Please share your experiences with me I’d love to hear them!

One of my grandsons showed no interest in walking then stood up and walked in front of an audience at his first birthday party. One of his older brothers pretended not to be able to walk at home (presumably so he would be carried) but walked at the childminders. I can't remember how old he was but over a year old, I think. My daughter walked at 9 months.

Children vary a lot.

My nearly 14 month old started to cruise (though preferred walking holding our hands) at 11 months I think, took her first couple steps on her 1st birthday and within a few weeks was walking confidently. Now walking everywhere!

Eldest DD never pulled up/cruised/crawled. Bum.shuffled from 13 months then started walking at 22.

DD is 15 months. Started pulling herself up and cruising round and climbing onto the sofa about 2 months ago. No steps yet. Not even confident to do it if we hold her hands. She'll get there

My son, first born, started crawling at 9 months, pulling up around 11 months, and started walking on his first birthday.

My daughter never crawled, started pulling herself up at 7 months, and was running like an Olympic champion at 8 months. Honestly, I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Eight months is WAY too early to be walking and running around. She was also a master climber, and there was nothing she couldn't get up on. It was like living with a monkey, and I couldn't take my eyes off of her for ages.

DD is 15 months and happily cruises and walks on her walker or holding our hands but she will not let go yet. We're hoping it might be soon as she really wants to do it but gets scared when she falls over.

Twins:
One crawled at 7m and walked at 1
The other crawled at 1 and walked at 18m!!!! Yet the late walker is the more articulate, finer motor control.... it just goes to show how different they are.

It depends on the baby. Some take a while from pulling up to walking some do it really quickly.

My eldest was 16 months when she started walking, had pulled to stand on her 1st birthday & was cruising within a week of that. Dc2 was delayed & we'd had physio intervention from when he was a month old, he walked a 22 months, never really cruised but would pull to stand from 18 months. Dc3 pulled to stand at just after 8 months & was walking before 9 months (she was quite small & it was so odd seeing her do it). Dc4 pulled to stand at 13 months & walked at 14 months. Dc5 pulled to stand & started cruising straight away at 11 months & walked at 13.

DD shortly after her first birthday. DGD 1 approximately the same. DGD 2, 20 months but she was very premature.

First took steps about 14 months, and had been cruising since 10 months. Second dd was pulling herself up to stand from very early and was walking confidently by 10 months. Was a shock when she started walking so early, as assumed she'd be similar to her sister.

It’s crazy how much they vary isn’t it. I’m just getting over excited imagining her walking about - she looks so small and when she’s standing bless her.
I’m sure once she walks I’ll be wishing for a rest!

My DD was the same, went from not even pulling up to running about in the space of a month! It’s quite normal I wouldn’t worry!

Meh. It’s a huge spectrum.

Mine were all normal. 15/15/22 month walkers.

First bum shuffled , 2nd crawled early and fast, 3rd knee walked - which is fast and stable compared to wobbly feet - only walked as physio put. Her in boots which made it hard to knee walk😂

@ellesbellesxxx that’s interesting actually because I was talking to my sister the other week about my DD and her lack of interest in moving about (this was before she was pulling herself up) and I wondered if her brain is busy with other things. For example she likes to talk a lot and says words very well, impersonates and copies which left me thinking whether at this age their brain can only really focus mainly on one thing such as speech or movement and then whichever they’re less confident with will come after

First never crawled, walked at 10 months
Second crawled 9/10 months, walked 14/15 months.

DH never crawled, used to drag himself along by elbows but not comando style. Walked at 10 months

DD crawled about 9 months and walked at 13 months

Mine was quite an early starter because he is constantly trying to get into/onto/towards everything lol.

He pulled himself to stand up the week he turned 6mo, which was about the same time he learned how to crawl. At 7mo he could stand himself up in the middle of the floor completely unaided. He took his first steps at 11mo. It took him a few weeks to transition from a few steps to full on walking. He's 13mo now and will not sit still lol.

2 weeks after his 1st birthday so 12 months 2 weeks

My son never really crawled but rolled. He was quite late to walk independently - he would only walk around holding our hands. Then at 18 months he got his courage up and started motoring around the kitchen island - he was so chuffed with himself he walked for about an hour!
I think my daughter was more normal, crawled and then started walking around one.

DD was almost 14 months. DS is 10 months and we think hell be walking unaided within a couple of weeks (he has a push along walker that he zooms around the house in)

Crawled at 9 months, first steps at 11 months but then cruised and made no progress on independent walking til 13 month and then suddenly took off one day and walks everywhere now!

First walked at 9 months- she is incredibly physical still (gymnast), but talked late. Second 11 months.

Crawled at 9 months, didn’t really cruise but then started to take steps at 11 months & by first birthday was doing drunken walking for a good 15 steps, 2 weeks later proper walking, running by 14 months. Not stopped since!

Crawled on all fours at 6.5 months, pulled to stand at 7 months, cruised at 9/10 months, first steps at 14 months, now 15.5 months and still not taking more than 20 steps at a time and is crawling and walking 50/50.

Back when he first started crawling, I was sure he would be running and jumping by now! Babies the same age who crawled several months after him are now running around. It just seems to vary massively.

My son walked properly when he was 9 months to the day but had been furniture walking for about 6 weeks before then. He only mixed with adults at that time so never saw anyone crawl however at 9 months and a week he started going to the childminder and she had 2 others his age who weren’t walking but crawling everywhere so although he did still walk he suddenly discovered crawling and joined them crawling with gusto which made us laugh.
