Just that really. And why?

About 12 months. It's more comfortable.

SnowdropFox · 16/05/2020 11:25

Put one in at 12 months, 21 months now. Sometimes she uses it, sometimes hides under it but it stops her travelling right up to the bed and banging her head. She used to do that and wake herself up.

PippinStar · 16/05/2020 11:25

12 months, reflux.

I think it was a little bit older than 12 months... Maybe about 14 months? And no reason other than it looking comfier to me. But apparently it's better to sleep without one! The first few nights he slept further down on the bed to avoid it. He's 2.5 now and loves having a pillow.

TheWitchwithNoName · 16/05/2020 11:29

12 months. DS also used to travel up the cot in his sleep and bang his head then wake up - multiple times a night!

Fleeflyyflooo · 16/05/2020 11:36

I introduced one earlier than is recommended (9 months). This was because dd would sleep perfect in our bed snuggled into a pillow but hated being put Into her cot. Got her her own pillow had 2 bad nights and since she had slept through completely. Pillow seems to be a comfort for her.

TimRigginsHasMyHeart · 16/05/2020 11:48

When they moved from a cot to a bed.

DC1 - 18mths
DC2 - 16mths
DTs - 22mths

ofwarren · 16/05/2020 11:52

12 months

ofwarren · 16/05/2020 11:53

Sorry, 12 months because it is comfier

sittingonacornflake · 16/05/2020 11:55

Shit. 27 months here and I haven't yet! I didn't realise that was so unusual. Feel a bit horrid now Confused

xTinkerhellx · 16/05/2020 11:56

I think mine was about 2?

But she's 8 now and still doesn't use it. She has one, but just doesn't use it. Prefers to sleep totally flat.

But she's been an odd cookie about sleeping since the day she was born.

ChikiTIKI · 16/05/2020 11:59

When she went in to a proper bed, nearly 2 I think. Mainly because she would lie on it to drink her milk. She still has it but I go in the room and move it so its not under her but blocking her from rolling out after a while.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 16/05/2020 12:06

About 1 I think and they both seemed more comfortable with them.

Clarabellawilliamson · 16/05/2020 12:09

Dd is 4 and doesn't use one, she refuses any bedding at all and I have to sneak in when she is asleep and cover her up with a duvet!

DS is just 2 and doesn't have one, he's still in a cot and sleeping bags too!

BobbyTheVetIsMyHero · 16/05/2020 12:11

Thanks all!

Mine is 14 months and not using one because she sleeps on her front and we're not sure if that would be comfortable for her?

She's a horrible sleeper generally and we're trying out a few changes to fix that and I'm debating introducing a pillow now as well.

SnowdropFox · 16/05/2020 12:14

I wouldn't feel bad @sittingonacornflake, if shes comfy then there isn't an issue! My lo still sleeps on her front with her bum in the air. The pillow is there to use if she wants but probably only does once a week or so.

xTinkerhellx · 16/05/2020 12:16

@Clarabellawilliamson I'm glad it isn't just mine who does that!

I have to fight her to have the sheet on the mattress. It still ends up on the floor half the time!

Burgerandchipvan · 16/05/2020 14:26

I've only just given my 2yo one. He doesn't use it!

koffeetoast · 16/05/2020 17:48

Mine is 2, I've tried to give him a pillow but he doesnt like it! He still sleeps in his cot, but with just a blanket.

ScrambledSmegs · 16/05/2020 17:51

10yo and even though she has a pillow she still doesn't use it. Gets into bed and chucks the pillow on the floor.

It's not compulsory so if your child doesn't want or need one I wouldn't worry about it.

vanillandhoney · 16/05/2020 17:57

I'm 31 and often sleep without a pillow 😂

MissingSilence · 16/05/2020 18:12

Mine was about 2. I think I read from 18 months is okay, extra paranoid about SIDS due to my job so waited.

happymummy12345 · 16/05/2020 18:15

When he went in his toddler bed at 17 months

Rubyroost · 16/05/2020 18:30

@sittingonacornflake I here it's actually better for kids snd adults not to have s pillow due to spine allignment. Given s soft feather pillow to my toddler today who is 2 years and 4 months
