Daughter refusing to talk to us and it's her birthday

My daughter is refusing to celebrate her birthday or talk to us because we made her stay in.
I've just sent her little sister up with her cards and she threw them back at her.

AIBU to totally ignore her tantrum and not beg her to open her cards and presents, and I know she must be finding it hard staying home but so is most of the world 🤷‍♀️.

She's 17 today btw.

Ignore her behaviour.
She should be much more responsible at that age.

Glad she's cheered up.

These are very strange and scary times, we're none of us above the odd meltdown. Hopefully she will start being more civil now.

My daughter will turn 13 on Tuesday. She did have a huge meltdown (several to be honest) but has now got her head round it. Her dad had to move out too so extra stress. I messaged everyone I know to send a card so she'll have surprises on her birthday and I've loads of decorations ready. We've promised her a huge party later in the year. You've done your best with your daughter...back off and let her process it.

Her behaviour wasnt right at all, She probably has lots of emotions about all this change.

Shows she is a good person deep down to come down and share her sweets and give hugs.

She sounds really bratty. No one is enjoying this, surely the well-being of her dad is important to her. She could kill him if she goes out.
