what do I take to entertain 10 mo on a plane? Only two hour flight but I'm a novice!

Title says it all really. DD's fave toy is stacking cups but that's not going to work on a plane as her favourite game is throwing them all on the floor over and over again. Any particular tips for things to entertain her? Or will we just be entertaining ourselves by trying to stop her screaming?

Stacking cups might not be a bad idea if they will fit together in the bag to start with. We've just flown to Australia (that's 7 hours to Dubai, 13 hours to Sydney and then another 30 minutes to Canberra - took 3 days in total with a stop over) and had loads of little toys for ds (14 months). He wasn't interested in the toys at all - more interested in the tv and the contents of the food tray. I wouldn't get too stressed, try and have a drink/bottle for take off and landing for her ears and remember - no matter how much she screams, you will never see these people again!! (a thought which kept me going on occasion) Enjoy your trip

Calpol is a good idea to pre-empt any discomfort at take off. Favourite books are a good idea. We took my daughter to Italy when she was 16months old and we got a book called Poppy Cats happy day - a big board book with lots of flaps to lift. it kept her occupied for ages, so something like that would be good.
Also something like this Farm
We spent ages singing old macdonald (quietly) while she pulled out the animals. crayons and a small pad are also handy. all these things will also prove handy at the other end for keeping her occupied while you eat dinner!
Oh and a few little toy cars to wheel about on the table. Can't think of anything else...

BTW - you can get the farm a lot cheaper I'm sure - it was just to give you an idea. I got ours from one of those book group people who bring samples into workplaces..

I always bring loads of little toys and she hardly plays with any. crayons are good. fruit that she can pick, like bluberries and grapes will make half an hour go. another half an hour is usually spent looking at the safety card and discussing it and if you are as lucky as I am she'll sleep. DD has learn that this is what you do on planes.

If she likes crakers, give them to her in little bits, takes ages and keeps them busy. If she has a dummy at all take it along, might be handy for a few minutes peace and sucking during take off is reconned to be good at equalising presure in teh ear. If not a dummy user then a drink and or food during take off can have same effect.

PippiLangstrump - that's the same as my DD who loves the safety card and daddy telling her all about the bouncy slides!
We also found that the inflight magazine is great to rip up, peekabo with the people in front/behind. Eat the seatbelt can ocupy us for 10 minutes.
And food - I agree re grapes and blueberries. We also make tiny little sandwiches with cucmber or tomatoe or cheese in. Those can take 30 minutes.

Does your 10m/o "get" crayons??? mine thoought they were for throwing at that age.

unisarah I don't remember but I think she was like yours. DD is now 2 and I forgot when she did what. i don't think i gave her bluberries then either... maybe it was soft books and teddies and toys that make sounds etc...

make sure you keep a seat free next to you she your LO can slee there and you can relax - not many people want to sit next to a baby/toddler anyway.
