Feeling a bit poorly today, horrendous trapped wind pain. 26weeks and the post 20week scan blues are setting in.

I just can’t wait to meet her and do all the jobs that everyone hates, I can’t wait to change nappies, I can’t wait for baths and I’m even excited for waking up in the night to tend to her. I can’t believe she’s going to be ours not long after the new year.

So because I’m feeling like a bag of white potatoes. I wanna lie in bed feeling her wriggle and read some of the moment you’ve loved about bringing baby home and the newborn stage.

I know the novelty of all these jobs will wear off very quickly, as everybody keeps telling when when I tell them I’m excited to just care for her. But it’s exciting here and now.

Give me your favourite new born moments please!

We had such a tough birth and first few weeks sorting out feeding I just couldn't love DD straight away. I'm sad I missed out on enjoying those early days. it doesn't always go how your are expecting or hoping.

But, bit by bit they make you love them 🥰 Round the clock cuddles. A totally contented face when they fall asleep in your arms with a tummy full of milk. The first smiles and learning what brings them out. Even better the giggles, now she's 8m she kicks all the water out the bath with excitement when we play peek a boo 🤣 going to play groups and meeting other mums - feeling part of the mum club 🤜🤛 we got you!

My favourite thing about newborns is how curious they are. They are brand new, know nothing, understand nothing, perceive little but they want to know everything. They just stare at you so intently trying to work you out. The way their faces change when they hear a familiar sound. Watching them react to all kinds of things. Even a plain white wall/ceiling is fascinating to them, if you think about it, they have never seen such an expanse of nothing before.

Then as they get older the funny sounds they make and things they do trying to communicate and work everything out. Baby science I always call it. It's magical!

@ThePurpleMoose funnily enough you said that! I’ve had my urine sent off for protein and something else they didn’t know if I had an infection or pre eclampsia or could have been nothing. I got my results on Friday and I’m all ok (for now!)

But will definitely keep an eye on it now Grin

I like to read this thread when I’m less in bed and she kicking at me, it makes it feel so much more real. I can’t wait to see her little face for the first time Flowers

When they cry so you put them in your bed, they hold your finger and instantly stop and go back to sleep.
The snuggles!
The cute guzzling noise when they are drinking their bottle.
When breastfeeding and you see their big eyes look up at you while drinking.
The after bath snuggles all cosy in a towel on your lap.
But wait til they can talk and say "I love you mummy" ❤️❤️❤️

I want to just say everything! I have a gorgeous 10mo DS.

Dopey milky faces are awesome.

Sleepy cuddles are probably the best Grin

Their little face when breastfeeding.
The milk drunk look as they pull off.
The way they fall asleep on you as you ignore 'advice' to put them down.
The little sleepy noises.

DS is nearly two and cuddling him to sleep is still the best part of my day.
