As the title says,.. what time do you actually switch off and sit down for the evening? I find I'm still going at 10pm, it's never ending. When I look at the instamums they all sitting down and chilling from 7ish it seems.🤷🏽‍♀️

7 / half 7 for me. Soon as I get dc to bed. If I have to make dinner for DH and me after I’ll pop up and down a couple more times and then settle down in jammies about 8ish. I can’t stand rushing about in the evening, for some people that’s their time to get stuff done but I would hate that.

Gillian1980 · 30/06/2019 23:02

About 10 o’clock

BeardedMum · 30/06/2019 23:03

8ish

10pm, often later and that is only because I make myself sit down then. Admittedly I do sit down briefly to eat with DH before that. If he is out I eat standing up. I have no idea how people sit down as soon as the kids have gone to bed. My house needs a complete rescue at that point!

Smellybluecheese · 30/06/2019 23:04

9pm ish normally. Often later. Never earlier.

22WR · 30/06/2019 23:04

10pm at the earliest. I could easily find more things that need doing but I refuse to. I have a 2 year old and a 13 year old.

Whathappenedtooursummer · 30/06/2019 23:05

What does sit down in the evening mean?? Just back from hour long ddog walk. ...

Yinyen · 30/06/2019 23:06

About 8. Always watch something by 9pm if not going out.

Eloisedublin123 · 30/06/2019 23:07

9pm. Maybe 8.30

Smarshian · 30/06/2019 23:08

Usually 8/8.30 but then I’m in bed by 10 weekdays.

Stardustmoon · 30/06/2019 23:11

10/11pm. I have a toddler and a baby so need to tidy, tidy, tidy!

Yogurtcoveredricecake · 30/06/2019 23:34

9pmish. It was 10pm tonight though. Really should get to bed....

LadyGardens · 30/06/2019 23:38

8/8.30pm. If I’m not going out then I like to relax in the evening. I tidy as I go along all day so once kids are in bed and dinner is done I collapse.

TrySinging · 30/06/2019 23:44

We don't really. Just got into bed with a cup of tea. Same most nights. We are both permanently exhausted. 5 DC.

ClownTent · 30/06/2019 23:46

DS (3) is often asleep between 7.30/7.45 so I will sit down then. I’ll eat dinner f I haven’t eaten with DS and then watch something on the tv or read. I’m usually in bed by 9.30/10 though because he’s up and bouncing around by 6.45 most mornings!!

mockorangey · 30/06/2019 23:50

9pm usually, sometimes 9.30pm. DD is usually asleep by 7.45, but DS takes ages, often until 9pm. I try to get jobs done while he is pissing about falling asleep, but often have to be on hand to get him to stay in bed. I hate it to be honest. As he gets older, he needs less and less sleep, but still isn't old enough to read to himself (almost 5).

IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls · 30/06/2019 23:58

DS 11 & DD 14 - its 9pm for me & DH (although we tend just to go to bed & watch TV).

Caterina99 · 01/07/2019 01:24

Usually around 8pm. My kids go to bed at 7. But my house is not the tidiest. I do the basics but I figure it’ll still be there tomorrow

managedmis · 01/07/2019 02:26

Basically as soon as the kids are both asleep I hit the sofa. Usually around 8pm ish, sometimes later with the light nights

pointbla · 01/07/2019 02:34

Seems the 10pm is not just me then! My aim is to just sod it and relax earlier Confused

I don't really...single full time working mum so once DS in bed I do the housework. I listen to the radio while I'm pottering.

Shooturlocalmethdealer · 01/07/2019 02:58

My kids are all grown still have two at home and a grandchild that lives with me. I hit the ground running and dont stop till after midnight it seems.

Cuppa12345 · 01/07/2019 03:06

I've got one 1yo and work full time, I stop about 7.30pm/8pm

1300cakes · 01/07/2019 04:07

I've got one 1 year old and work 3 days a week, I sit down (or sometimes go to bed myself) when he does at 7.30. I do all my chores and tidying during the day, or it can wait until tomorrow.

Theoldwoman · 01/07/2019 04:11

Around 7pm. We eat dinner 5-5:30pm, cleaned up and chill!
