How many weeks?

It was about 3 weeks after my first child, I had an episiotomy.
I had a very big baby 2 weeks ago and had a small tear but I feel like I'm going to need longer this time before getting back to it. even though I'd love to sooner, I just don't think my body could take it

2 weeks and 1 day. Episiotomy and a tear but it was fine.

We did it very cautiously after 5 weeks.

Well over 6 months. Episiotomy and forceps. It was agony down there.

I think I was about 5 weeks. I had a c section so it was more about it not being strenuous and pulling at my scar more than anything. Oh, and waiting for the never ending bleeding to stop .

6 weeks, with stitches. But I waited until I had the ok from the midwife.

BEST. SEX. EVER. (Something had definitely moved)

I tried after 6 weeks and cried with the agony... in hindsight after 5 hours of pushing, ventose, and infected stitches it wasn't the best idea. Attempted again a few weeks later...I would say maybe by 12 weeks it was ok(ish)

With my first had forceps/ 3rd degree tear - waited 12 weeks, but took about 9 months to feel totally normal and to actually enjoy it!

2 weeks, very straightforward birth with no tears etc. and I fell back to normal.

8wks, tried before but too painful post csection

2 weeks after section, I'm a week post section this time but defo can't see us having sex in a week, mainly as we have a newborn and a 17 month old

8 months iirc,neither of us felt like it until then.

6 weeks. We like to do things by the book!

How on earth do you all manage it?
My DS is 15 weeks and I'm so ready to start having sex again but baby is always either feeding or crying or sleeping on me.
The rare occasions that he is soundly sleeping in his cot I wouldn't dare risk waking him.
When will I ever get the chance? Hopefully when he goes in his own room

Would have been 2 weeks but stupidly told DH it's meant to be 6 weeks so he refused until 6 weeks.

@Lottieskeeper re waking baby, do you not have a sofa?

5 months after abstinence throughout pregnancy too ( medical reasons ) it was incredible

@GummyGoddess yes we have a spare room with double bed too.
But I'm not brave enough to risk waking him by leaving the room if he finally goes to sleep anywhere other than on me.
My need for sleep is greater than my desire for sex I suppose

7 weeks

4th degree tear following forceps.

First three times of sex was uncomfortable and stingy, but each time got less painful. Now it's the odd twinge I get, but all good!!

6 weeks (csection) but was very wary as I'd done 23 hours pushing and got to 10cm but did it the night before my 6 week check so I could report any problems to doctor

Still haven't at 23 months.

Forceps delivery with a 3c tear and separate episiostomy.

It had felt like ages

Oh goodness, I’m into years, not months!! It was fairly regular until I was 5 months pregnant with DD1, then we had sex once when she was 9 months old!! Then nothing till baby was 23 months old (that single encounter resulted in a surprise pregnancy with DC2!!). Then we had sex when I was 12 weeks pregnant... then nothing since then. DD2 is nearly 16 months old!!

I’m married by the way. DH has zero sex drive. I may implode soon 😭 I’d be devastated if my daughters ended up in this situation, so I definitely need to take action.

About 9 months.. I had an episiotomy & 3rd degree tear. Got infected numerous times. I waited until it stopped hurting or feeling uncomfortable to put a tampon in.. I figured if that hurt, sex would be awful!

I have an extremely patient partner, he also went a good 5 months while I was pregnant due to severe morning sickness! Poor guy.. all good now
