have got some terry nappies that i wouldn't mind trying on ds2. do better wraps exist these days than the old fashioned plastic variety? he's 11 weeks and chunky. do they come adjustable?

Yes, there are some wonderful wraps around these days.
Personally, I use Motherease wraps. You can get them with either popper or velcro fastenings. They are adjustable, really cute, come in a variety of prints and they don't leak at all.
There are lots of other wraps too though. Tots Bots do nice ones, for example.
I'm sure other people will recommend different ones.
I haven't used motherease over terries though. I use shaped nappies; tots bots and bumbles.

Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaabulous wraps out there!!!

Motherease are the most reliable.

Lots of different prints from Nature Babies

The wonderful world of wool and fleece

Goooooooooooorgeous designs at weenotions and weenotions exclusives....

i got a voucher from our council and used it one four different wraps. got a tots bots blue star wrap which contained the most amazing poo explosion (very impressed indeed), a nature babies blue gingham which is my favourite, a motherease which is ok but is my least fave and a tots fleece rainbow wrap which is beautiful, but not great under baby grow cos it makes it smell after a night so needs to wash pjs daily. have you heard of nappy nippas? just thought i would mention if you havent seen new wraps you might not have heard of these - they are a million % better than pins

Oh god yes - nappy nippas are the best thing in the world

RuthChan · 14/07/2007 13:45

Go FlameDelacour!!!
I love it when people get enthusiastic about their cloth nappies!!!

FlameDelacour · 14/07/2007 13:46

I am always enthusiastic about cloth (my bank balance shows that though ).

Saying that... DS has spent the last 2 hours in no nappy

RuthChan · 14/07/2007 13:50

I have to agree that I love my cloth nappies too!!
Wouldn't be without them
Not sure that I'm going to let DD go without one quite yet though. Maybe in the garden if it ever stops raining...

FlameDelacour · 14/07/2007 13:56

He ran away as I tried to stick it on him, so I thought I'd just leave it (could regret that if he decides on a second poo )

He's currently playing with a potty

RuthChan · 14/07/2007 14:08

Yeah, I have to admit that as much as I love my cloth nappies, they are a little troublesome in terms of trying to keep DD on the changing mat long enough to actually do them up. I really wonder how I'll manage as she gets bigger and more adept at running away.
How old is your DS?

FlameDelacour · 14/07/2007 14:21

DS'd be like it in disposables too. He's 16 months

micromummy · 14/07/2007 14:25

i wondered if you'd need a bigger wrap than expected from size of baby given terries ar so much bulkier?
tried babmbino mio with ds1. got awful nappy rash/leaks - gave up. Seem to work on ds2 but only have up to 7kg, hence keen to try (cheap) terries....

With a neat fold, standard wraps are normally fine.

bigmouthstrikesagain · 14/07/2007 14:43

My dd is 15m and she rgularly rips off the cloth nappies with velcro - this morning she ripped off her nappy pooed on the floor then trotted to me in the kitchen to hand me her clean nappy (smearing a bit of poo around in the process)

She would do the same with disposables though. She can get the poppered nappies off thouhg!

nappyaddict · 14/07/2007 14:53

i like the wacky wraps best.

juuule · 14/07/2007 17:32

I used Motherease airflow wraps over Little Ewe terry squares with no problems.

nappyzone · 14/07/2007 18:53

ooo yeahh - i like tots wraps but i love wacky wraps - summer bum showy offy-tastic! they are bringing some new ranges out soon

kreamkrackers · 14/07/2007 19:10

i love my wackey wraps and wool wraps. there are loads of gorgeous wraps out there, they're just as addictive as buying nappies.

nappyzone · 14/07/2007 19:17

yes i agree - i am at heart a pocket addict but then i get some nice wacky wraps in and have to try them out so then have to try shaped napies out and then more wraps and then slowly i am becomming wrap obsessive - , the problem i have is someone asks me how something performs and i just have to try everything - i am stuffed when ds is out of nappies .

nappyzone · 14/07/2007 19:17

still have not done the wool thing....

kreamkrackers · 14/07/2007 19:23

you should try it, i was put off at first as it confused me and sounded like hard work but they're so easy to look after. you can also pick your own colours so it feels more special, wow i've gone completely bonkers haven't i

nappyzone · 14/07/2007 20:02

ermmmm - yes but so have i so your in good company! i am reluctant but tempted as i need to shell out a small fortune for more nappies for when i go back to work as ds will be in nursery so need lots of pocket nappies as easier for the staff.

FlameDelacour · 15/07/2007 19:23

Wool's great

micromummy · 20/07/2007 12:22
