My 6yo wants to marry me

Lately my almost 6 year old keeps talking about marriage and keeps asking me to marry him. I have no idea where this is coming from, I’m not married and the subject is never talked about at home. He says he hasn’t learned about it at school, but just started thinking about it in his room randomly .

Is this normal? I’ve tried googling about it but it’s just bring up... weird results. I don’t have family and none of my friends have kids, so I’ve no one to talk to about it.

I find it really uncomfortable and weird, my dp thinks it’s cute that he wants to marry his mummy. I tend to just change the subject.

I should also say my eldest was just like this at 6 too. Now he's 13 he'd just like to be as far away as possible! The being adored stage doesn't last long, make the most of it

All 3 ds have said this when young. They’re 13, 6 and 5 now and have grown out of it. Dd11 wants to live next door to me now, ds6 is planning to build me a house on his farm and has agreed to build dd one too. Which is good because ds5 has informed me I’ll need to move out and give him my house because he hasn’t got enough money to buy his own and he and his wife will need my bedroom to keep their toys in!

DD wanted to marry me (because girls can marry girls now mummy!) and then ditched me for the cat!
All was not lost thought as she decided I should marry the (very happily already married) dad of one of her friends so they could live in the same house and play all day. Sadly his wife did not agree so we had to ruin that dream.

DS (also 6) wants me to go to every party with him until he’s 21 and he wants me to choose his birthday party for ever and for it to be a surprise 😍

Mine tells me he's going to live with me forever and "don't worry mummy, I'll still come and sleep in your bed". Not weird at all!
