HOWL

that is SO mumsnet (slight at never having bought an item of clothing from Boden) - tis also vaaaaar London

we also had (in M&S in Chiswick) - from a dad, shopping on his own with his 3 boys. At the front of the till, realising they had forgotten the croissants and sending one of the boys back....

'Jacob, Jacoby, Jacoby dahhhhrling, don't choose those ones. You know mummy only likes the all butter ones dahhhhrling'

noddyholder · 16/06/2007 15:21

foxinsocks · 16/06/2007 15:23

or the Abel and Coles

DeviousDaffodil · 16/06/2007 15:23

And teh Peacocks? So cheap and common.

DeviousDaffodil · 16/06/2007 15:24

Is their best friend Laura Ashley?

CuttingCod · 16/06/2007 15:24

[email protected].

i htink there shodul be a sinister undercurrent
when we went to posh swimming lessons there was this really menacing dad who used to almost shout at his kdi to get chnaged for " cooking lessons"

dh once very bravely muttered TOSSEr too loudly not so under his breath

there was also a mum who had pain au chocolat and hot chocolate for tabitha( fat ) wwhen she cme out of the pool

one of our friend's state schools is so middle class than when they had a trip organised, so many parents were keen to be involved, they had to run a ballot to see who got to go

CuttingCod · 16/06/2007 15:31

oh dear the Bodens sound like me: "not properly posh" (if only).
I even have a long haired son.

And I wanted to call our labrador Boden.

dh refused to walk it with that name.

(current name just as poncey though)

glyn · 16/06/2007 16:21

I saw Boden daddy and sons in Waitrose asking at the fish counter, "Do you have any fresh pike?" and looking most upset when told no.

Blandmum · 16/06/2007 16:23

Don't forget that the Bodens probably buy 'aspirational Toileteries' from Waitrose as well

glyn · 16/06/2007 16:24

Seriously, Johnny Boden has made a killing floggin his gear cos he's tapped into the fact that we all secretly want to be upper middle class, country-types, who have 2nd homes and send our kids to private schools , given the odd spare £50K a year- don't we??? and if we wear his clothes it makes us feel we're a tiny bit further along that road- fat chance!

snigger.

Beyonceen · 16/06/2007 16:30

it's a bit of a way of life for some women around us (officer's wife uniform) and sooooo annoying. You're IN if you wear it and your kids are head to toe boden. Makes me laugh. - Asda and tesco do really nice stuff too!
