can't believe this. do you remember me saying that mil had bought a buggy for £5 from her neighbour. i just shoved it in the garage. didnt think that the wheels swivelled, or the back reclined....just had a good inspection....managed to find a wheel lock so they DO swivel and a 4 position thingy. it lies really flat! it stinks, needs WD40 on the wheels and a bloody good wash, but other than that will totally do for france!

sorry to be a pain - especially you twiglett.....i don't even know the make, other than mothercare. would lurrve a maclaren quest or the tecno one but this will do for now. plus, my mum paid a fortune for our travel system, and it will last forever (3 wheeler, rough terrain - we live in the middle of nowhere) so i couldn't really buy a decent one for her sake!

dd did the same wakings as last night 3.15, 6 and 8, but before you think 'that's good' she woke at 11.30 too! so i fed her. wonder if she could have lasted?????........

Hope everyone had a good night. Ours was ok after a bad start. DD woke at 3.45 and then 5.45. For the past week weve been putting her to bed and she falls asleep and then after 1 hr she wakes up and wont go back down. Shell sleep in our arms but not back in the cot until about 10pm. Dont know whats going on there. Thought I was too lucky when she fell asleep at 7 last night, imagined spending the night watching tv but no at 8pm dd had different plans.
Oh and she also seems to have dropped her morning nap

we had that prob kbaby and discovered we were putting her to bed too early...she was taking the put down as a nap and not a bedtime. ended up giving (forcing) her to have a little sleep about 5 or 6ish and she lasted until 8 - 8.30 then slept better. now for some reason she does go down at 7 and stays down, except on the odd occasion. you prob should perservere with what you are doing though and see if she changes. she may just be having one of those weeks.

Egypt no I didn't get your CAT! sorry you must've thought me rude... Also don't know if kbaby, georgina and libb were able to access pics. There's a bit that shows who's looked and none of you 3 are on it... but I did put your addresses on...

Egypt · 09/09/2004 12:58

oh right - what do i do - where do i go to look?

OP posts:
spots · 09/09/2004 13:52

I have to give your email addresses to let you through the burly virtual security personnel. So I think it's got to be a CAT. Once that's done the pics should just appear magically in your in-tray.

Spots, I have now seen your pictures - she has quite rightly earned her darling status!

Nowt much happening here - I really need to tackle the bottle issue as I have just 4 odd weeks to go (there is no emoticon for how I feel about that must needs must!). I am toying with the idea of trying a beaker instead, DP is home at the weekend so I will get him to try again as it feels mean for me to do it when I am carrying the real stuff so nearby!

I have arranged for the house to be rewired just before I go back - is this a good idea? yoikes!

Also I have entered a design into the competition for next year's Town in Bloom campaign, I doubt it will get far but it was nice to forget myself for the little while it took to draw! I had forgotten how much I love doing it.

spots · 09/09/2004 17:23

libb what did you have to design? am intruiged...

have added email addresses, hopefully will work this time...

kbaby · 09/09/2004 17:54

i think my email is playing up as havent received any emails in days.

Bozza · 09/09/2004 21:45

DH was away last night so no computer and yet again loads to catch up on. Egypt v. pleased to hear about your Nan. DS has had a cancellation so we have to be at the hospital at 7.30 am tomorrow. Going to take DD too. It says make other arrangements for your other children but I'm hoping they will make an exception for a breastfed baby. DH will be there too so can take her for walks etc and if it gets too much will phone MIL and meet her at our house with DD. Am currently defrosting two bottles of ebm. Poor little DS - he's only 3 and this will be his third op - feel a bit sad for him.

Well after health visitor's advice of spreading daytime feeds out DD slept dreadfully - fed at 9.45, 11.30 and four more times but did not look at clock until 6.15. Will see what happens tonight but must go to bed now.

Egypt · 10/09/2004 08:20

bless your ds bozza. hope all goes well.

how was last night? i thought the more they fed in the day the more likely they were to go through the night. mind you, doesnt work for ours! she was ok again last night, just woke at 1.30 and 5.20, then 7.40. i have to say she didnt feed much yesterday - just didnt seem to want it. we were out for about 4 hours and she didnt hardly want a thing when we got home. strange.

I want to see the piccies.

While like Twiglett our night was also bad. Up every 2 hrs. Fed ,10, 12.35, 3.30, also inbetween up at 2am to put dummy back in and then from 4-6 DD decided to play in her cot. All I could hear was her gurgling and rattling a sheep. How can she lie there for 2hrs playing in the middle of the night. I kept thinking shell go to sleep now, so I couldnt sleep until she fell to sleep.
Hoping tonight will be better if not im putting DP on duty and he can do the comforting

libb · 10/09/2004 11:33

I had a bad night too - but only because DP and DS were snoring in stereo! I tapped DP to try and make him stop but ended up whacking him in a very vulnerable spot! . I felt so guilty that I let him snore for a while after that. DS slept pretty well considering the one man earthquake on the other side of me.

We are having major teething shinanegans going on today - poor mite.

GeorginaA · 10/09/2004 13:29

Didn't know whether to post this/admit to this, but here goes.

Have been feeling really low the last few days for no real reason that I can put my finger on. Odd as for the last few weeks I could categorically say that I've been the happiest I've ever been in my life.

I'm okay in the day - kids keep me busy and I'm happy and laughing with them. Really enjoying the days now ds1 is at nursery in the mornings. Gets to the evenings and I'm so lethargic. Don't want to do anything but am miserable that I don't want to do anything.

Dh went out last night leaving me on my own and I really felt like bursting into tears. I feel faintly ridiculous - as I said, I haven't got any reason to be down.

Maybe it's just because I'm a bit tired. Hoping it's not early signs of PND.

libb · 10/09/2004 15:04

GeorginaA, please don't feel awkward about posting - I did the same just after DS was born. I am not great at offering advice, I tend to be somewhat clumsy but if you ever want to chat then please feel free to CAT me.

I still have days when I don't feel all that happy (but I think this is down to lack of confidence on my part). I hope it is just a tired thing for you, I know I couldn't deal with two little ones right now so I for one am in awe of anyone who can. Thinking of you xxx

oh dear georgina. if you are ok in the day, i wouldn't have thought the PND is coming on...do you? surely you must be so knackered, especially having 2 little ones. is dh doing stuff in the evening's for you? if mine doesn't lift a finger i get really tearful.. sounds stupid, but am very vulnerable all the time since i have had dd and do feel so tired, i can cry for any reason, and certainly in the eves...especially when dh just comes home, spends ages on the pc then turns the tv over to sky sports and does NOTHING. {{bighugs}} for you.......

may cheer you up....looke what arrived today.....we like!

OP posts:
GeorginaA · 10/09/2004 15:47

Thanks folks :)

I don't think it's PND - as you say Egypt - it's weird that it's just a certain part of the day. I agree that it's probably hormone related - I have no genuine reason to be down - things are going well.

Dh is actually a gem. I'm so lucky, he does do a lot.

It's horrible really, I really look forward to some me time in the evenings, and then it's like a switch has been flicked and I just can't enjoy it at all. Going to try and get some extra sleep this weekend to see if that helps.

Thanks for not telling me I'm being silly :)

libb · 10/09/2004 15:48

Bumbo epidemic! My photos have been posted again, please accept my apologies for the hippy that is my DP and the for carpet floor offsetting the bumbo - it wasn't in a pub, it is actually our living room!

Its days are numbered as a new one is on its way as we speak (which is kind of a shame as it is Axminster don't you know? built to last a lifetime . . . . which it unfortunately has. I repotted several plants on that carpet without paper down and there isn't a mark on it!) blooming invincible and very much the joke of the town - after DP's hair.

www.photobox.co.uk/album/848232 - I think the same link will work - and no taking the mick out of my carpet! or DP!
