We got to baby massage and DD fell asleep. So instead of practicing I got to watch the other mums do it while dd slept on my lap. Oh well always next week.
Good News about your Nan Egypt and the pay rise. Ive been debating today that when I go back to work should I get a cleaner. Between work and travelling im not going to get home until 6.30 which means that on the weekends I want to spend as much time with DD as possible. Im thinking that perhaps I could ditch the cleaning but then feel really lazy about not doing it myself. Wish I could work part time but we're just so used to 2 incomes and what with the wedding and the extension we just couldnt afford it. Plus I dont think work would agree to having a part time team manager, which means that id have to take a pay cut to accept another job anyway.
Speaking to a mum of a 5 month old who said that her baby started sleeping at 4 months when she gave formula at bedtime, she bf other times. Hmmm does sound tempting

Egypt · 08/09/2004 18:04

our neighbour also gave formula at bedtimes to her 3 children. they all slept through then. have tried mind - didnt work and never had such a good night as last night - 8 hours on breast alone.. she did feed for about 30 mins though

dont think dd will sleep an 8 hour stretch tonight, she fell asleep the minute her head hit the nipple!

now, for our gay paris trip, dd needs a passport. please advise someone - how/where do i get dd's passport piccies. i forgot to ask the photographer today if she could do one. do i stick her in a booth and attempt to hold her above my head whilst i sit on the floor and hope she looks at the camera? or do you have some other idea?!

also, i'd like to know if any of you have a good small pushchair to recommend (cheap please) that folds up small, is suitable for a 4 month old and can easily go on the plane?

Egypt it's GOT to be the Maclaren Quest. It's dreamy. And groovy. I'll say no more on the subject.

DD thought baby massage was a bit funny, then just got bored... I was sad because I wanted big adoring eyes and relaxed little bady!

Great news about your nan and the pay rise and the trip... cor, what a wednesday!

Kbaby I think anyone who is contemplating getting a cleaner should def. get one. I used to clean people's houses when i was a student and always thought what a great job it was, and knew how nice it was for the people to come back to a clean house, too. If you can afford it (not even that expensive) it's a win-win situation. I want one too!

Sheila the dentist took DD out for a 3 hour walk. She is my mum's generation and has a ... high tolerance ... of babies crying, so when dd cried Sheila didn't turn on her heel and bring her home. By the time they eventually got back dd was beside herself. And when I picked her out of the buggy and cuddled her she just STOPPED like someone had flicked a switch. I don't want to make S. the D. sound cruel... she didn't let dd cry for 3 hours! - the main problem was that dd now knows who is familiar and who is strange. I suddenly felt like a mum.

S. the D. also hinted that dd was too fat and I was feeding her too much... I think she is the mother in law I never had.

oh spots, lol at s the d. sounds like a female scout leader. can just picture her stomping around the streets with screaming baby.

maclaren quest, okay dokey, cost? just surfing for one now :)

Don't pay any more than £89.99. I got mine from the classifieds paper for £45, very proud of that... It's really good for younger babies because you can tilt the back so they can nap in it more easily. And i said I'd say no more on the subject...

we have a Cossetto thing that folds up very nicely. Suitable from birth and can spin on a penny.

Sheila sounds formidable. And wonderfully brilliant.

Egypt, take your dd to Jessops for passport photo's that's where we got dd2's done. They lie them on a big white cushion to take the photo.
Great news on your nan by the way and dh's payrise it's all happening for you :)

Twiglett I've flown with BA and they wouldn't let me take the pushchair onto the plane, I had a big argument with the Air stewardess about this as we'd been told at check in that they would, but this is another story and I won't go into it all here.

We need to get a pushchair for going to London I'd forgotton all about that, will need to start looking as we're going pretty soon. Going to check out that Kiddiecare site.

Didn't get very much housework done today at all. Was going to do dusting but played with dd2 instead. so living room is very dusty and untidy, I went to get dd1 from school then we came home and we had relatives sitting outside the house in their car waiting for us. Oh I could have died of shame when they came into the house I have since dusted and have promised myself that I will stay on top of the housework just incase we get any other surprise guests.

linnet · 08/09/2004 23:24

And it's a girl!!! well we knew that already. Dh just got a text from his friend she weighed in at 7lbs 2oz mother and baby doing fine. Yeah, I get to go shopping now .
