Not in a rush, just curious. DD is a great bum shuffler, she's lightning fast!

I had two! DD walked at 18 months (phew yes I had a sore back!) & DS was 13 months. DD 16yo now and still likes everything done for her 😂

CleopatrasMum · 20/09/2018 18:43

First one walked about 15/16 months, the second at 10 months. It was definitely easier the first time! Long live bum shufflers in my opinion.

Harrykanesrightsock · 20/09/2018 18:44

DD2 was a bum shuffler and was a week under one when she started walking

My bum shuffled walked at 21 months. He's 13 now and still pretty lazy!

Minnie881 · 20/09/2018 18:46

DS was 18 months nearly 19 and very fast and efficient! Was in no hurry at all and to be honest I didn't mind.. so many people asked why he wasn't walking yet.. because he wasn't ready/wasn't fussed. Got annoying how much people make a big deal over it, he was just laid back like me Grin

noraclavicle · 20/09/2018 18:47

DS did fast crawling & walked at 12 months. DD on the other hand did no crawling or even much in the way of bum shuffling!. She hauled herself up & went straight to walking at 16 months. Lucky she didn’t weigh too much!

mnahmnah · 20/09/2018 18:47

My bum jumper walked at 19 months!!! Nothing wrong with him now Smile

Scienceforthewin · 20/09/2018 18:48

My bum shuffler was the week before first birthday.

Apileofballyhoo · 20/09/2018 18:51

18 months. Bum shuffled and never cruised or anything, just stood up and walked one day.

Rufus27 · 20/09/2018 18:51

Walked at nearly 20 months. Now 30 months and one of the most able (physically) in his peer group. (Nursery’s judgment, not mine!).

TheHollowLeggedGoat · 20/09/2018 18:53

She was 18.5 months. Her speedy bum shuffling was a thing to behold and she had a permanent carpet burn down the side of one calf!
I was told by a physio at the time that bum shuffling and late walking is often linked with hypermobile joints (which my DD does suffer from).

EdWinchester · 20/09/2018 18:54

17 months. He was enormously fat.

PenApple · 20/09/2018 18:55

15mo. I’ve also had 2 crawlers who walked at 10mo & 12mo.

cantfindamoniker · 20/09/2018 18:55

17 months. She didn't see the point as she could get about and see where she was going. Still dainty..

Figgygal · 20/09/2018 18:56

Ds1 never crawled only shuffled then walked at 11 months
Ds2 did crawl at 10 months and walked at 12 months

biscoffbaby · 20/09/2018 18:57

Bum shuffled at 11.5 months, crawled at 14 months and walked at 16.5 months

purpleme12 · 20/09/2018 19:02

17 months

casualobserver · 20/09/2018 19:04

My bum shuffler was 18 months, then she went from cruising to walking in just a couple of days. She was such a speedy shuffler it was amazing to see. I had sew denim patches on the bottoms of all of her trousers though as she would wear holes in them constantly.

NameChange30 · 20/09/2018 19:08

He went from bum shuffling to walking at 14 months.

FromThe80s · 20/09/2018 19:11

17 months, just 1 month slower than her crawling sister

MacNcheese87 · 20/09/2018 19:12

Such a variety, although all tend to be before 2 so I guess we shall aim for that.

DD is 15 months. She crawls and bum shuffles but is not interested in walking at all. We've started to get the 'why isn't she walking yet?' questions and I wonder what the rush is all about. I honestly don't care when she walks, as long as she does.

She's perfectly capable of destroying our house on her bottom. Grin

21 months here as well. But he'd ditched the buggy by 24 months and walked everywhere so caught up quickly

LondonJax · 20/09/2018 19:17

Ours was two years and five days! I'd already had a word with a paediatric physio I knew who also had a bum shuffler (twins actually, one crawled, the other bum shuffled). Her crawler walked at 16 months and her bum shuffler was two. I was just about to call the GP to arrange an appointment and he hauled himself to his feet. Apparently DH was a bum shuffler and was 23 months when he stood so may be his lateness was genetic.

Figmentofimagination · 20/09/2018 19:18

My DS (16mo) is a bum shuffler and very fast. He has not made any attempts to learn how to crawl or cruise yet. Though he can be speedy with walking if we hold him up.
It's good to know that other bum shufflers don't wait too long to walk. Though I just wish he learnt how to get from lying down to sitting up. If he falls over, he can roll around and push himself along the floor on his back but I have to sit him back up.

TheThirdOfHerName · 20/09/2018 19:19

Two of mine were bottom shufflers.
DS2 walked at 22 months.
DD walked at 24 months.

Both started walking later than my crawlers (15 months and 18 months).
