Mums with daughters - what do you call their lady bits??!

DD is learning words at a rate of knots so we have to decide what delightful euphemism we're going to use to describe her general private area.

We can't think of anything we like - except perhaps Ladybits

Anyone got any good ones?

God, Thell, get your hard hat out!
Personally, I go for the anatomically correct labia and vagina.

Beauregard · 25/05/2007 19:35

Foofa, although intially i told her it was Fanny but then she kept running about shouting "Fanny, fanny ,fanny"

mishw · 25/05/2007 19:36

DH used to know someone who called her Janet!!!!

McDreamy · 25/05/2007 19:36

Front bottom

Mercy · 25/05/2007 19:39

Bottom for wees

Bum is for poo

I know several little girls use fanny, front bottom etc.

My mum recently explained to me why some people used the word 'mary'. Mary and William apparently.

CheesyFeet · 25/05/2007 19:40

another front bottom here (as it were)

Wanted to go with labia but it hasn't stuck for some reason. Dd refers to her front bottom.

ktmoomoo · 25/05/2007 19:41

my dd calls hers her FAIRY lol

hazypops · 25/05/2007 19:46

My dd1 and dd2 both called theirs tuppy they have both practically grown up now so fanny is the in word now.

LittleWonder · 25/05/2007 20:04

fanny. though if it was after MNet for me, would have taught her fanjo. did teach corect terminology by about 3 though, but we stuck with fanny.

boys = waggy [tradition in father's family] - think that is v v sweet

babyblue2 · 25/05/2007 20:06

twinkle

CheesyFeet · 25/05/2007 20:07

not sure I could cope with dd using the word fanjo. not really sure why

MummyOnTheEdge · 25/05/2007 20:24

Front bottom or (more often) wizzie - my Grandmother's term.

MNersThisIsBigMother · 25/05/2007 20:30

front bum, back bum tho was recently informed by dd that it was 'gross' that babies came from same place as poo...not easy but I had to introduce 'vagina'...no more questions yet TG!

thell · 25/05/2007 21:01

Hurrah! Some fab ones - I really like Wizzie.
I think we always just used front bottom - and I suppose the advantage is my 1 year old won't be able to say it clearly for ages

'Fanjo' is fab, but being comedy-rude at home is one thing...not sure I'd be able to cope with her saying it in public.
Had to restrain myself from teaching her 'norks' for the same reason

Fru-Fru...................

Sexonknackeredlegs · 25/05/2007 21:03

Front bottom.

Friends dd calls it her woopsy!

LoveAngel · 25/05/2007 21:05

Front bottom makes me howl with laughter!!!!
I didn't realise it was so common.

weepootleflump · 25/05/2007 21:06

At the moment it's either bum or bits, will probably become flower.

heymammy · 25/05/2007 21:06

lordy, lordy...it's a flower in our house.

I know we should all use the proper names blah blah blah but there really is something shuddery about your child saying vagina (especially in the supermarket at full pelt)

SueBaroo · 25/05/2007 21:07

It's always been 'private bits' here, for boys and girls, although the novelty of having a little boy does mean we have a lot of 'willy!' shouting.

allgonebellyup · 25/05/2007 21:07

not this thread AGAIN

RosaLuxembourg · 25/05/2007 21:08

Vagina, and am planning to introduce vulva in response to criticism on here about the anatomical incorrectness of using vagina as a catchall phrase for the femal sexual organs. In the context washing I tend to say undercarriage however.

mad4girls · 25/05/2007 21:10

my 2 dds 7 and 4 call theirs their gir ly bits, although dd1 does know the real name is vagina as she has been watching alot of birthing programs with me(shes all into biology, likes to know everything)

SueBaroo · 25/05/2007 21:10

allgonebellyup, 'tis not the same one, it's your imagination...
