DD is learning words at a rate of knots so we have to decide what delightful euphemism we're going to use to describe her general private area.

We can't think of anything we like - except perhaps Ladybits

Anyone got any good ones?

Oooh missus!

pirategirl · 26/05/2007 11:12

wee wee, just the name our family have used, well my mum used that word, so maybe her mum did?

'wipe your wee wee'

pretty innofensive, will sort out the vagina thing when she's a bit older.

DD followed OH into the loo the other week and pointed at him, asking 'what's that?'

He, being a bear of little brain, replied 'Daddy's willy'.

So Madam now thinks it's a great laugh to run around shouting 'Daddy's willy! Daddy's willy!' at the top of her voice.

We're expecting social services round any day now....

Back to the OP, dd then pointed at my unkempt ladygarden as I was coming out of the shower the other day and asked 'Mummy's willy?' in a questioning little voice.

I had one of those completely blank moments where I couldn't think what to call it that wouldn't get shouted up and down the supermarket and so said 'no.. erm... it's... mummy's hair' and then cursed myself for my cowardice. She hasn't asked or mentioned it since, so I think I got away with it and will be more prepared for next time!

I do like Yoni, may well go with that one.

Flower reminds me too much of Monica from Friends - 'I'm going to give him my flower'

Please Please NOT frou frou

I know a girl who calls it this. I also know a song which starts
"Little rabbit frou frou jumping through the ling grass, scooping up the field mice and bonking them on the head"

AngharadGoldenhand · 26/05/2007 18:23

Btw, just to clear up the hedgehog bit, yonil is the bit I was confusing it with. Yonil is the lapine for hedgehogs.

I'm sure you all needed to know that.

Boys have winkles

lizandlulu · 26/05/2007 18:36

i have always called it a me-me

pinkdolly · 27/05/2007 16:08

It's a "peach" in this house. A term my bil used when the girls were small and it has just stuck. Of course the girls thought it was hilarious when we went to a garden centre and saw a peach tree.

They couldn't believe they grew on trees...!

kittypants · 27/05/2007 16:08

bits or front bottom .

fizzylemonade · 27/05/2007 21:05

I don't have girls (2 boys) but my sister calls her daughter's a "foo foo" and my mate calls it a "mee mee"

smalltowngirl · 27/05/2007 22:54

Flower or Ynnaf(why-naff) - fanny backwards

Ladymuck · 27/05/2007 23:01

I appreciate that I have sons and not daughters, but how much time do you lot spend talking about it? It hasn't really come up in our house yet - other than ds1 knows what a vagina is in the context of sexual reproduction, so would probably assume that any little girl talking about her vagina was really talking about her vagina - he hasn't needed to know about vulvas yet.

chacha3 · 27/05/2007 23:02

tuppy

elsieanjoanne · 27/05/2007 23:10

my sister used to call it fairey when she was young an sweet. i tend to tell my dd lets clean your wo wos or girly bits! my sister now 16 says errgghh you got shit in your faj! told her where to shove that word my dd only 1

Aero · 27/05/2007 23:11

Dd's has always been 'minnie' until recently when she's started saying it's her 'tinkles'!! Now that's a new one on me, but it's apparantly what her friends say. Dd will be 7 in July.

elsieanjoanne · 28/05/2007 15:07

the other word i use with dd was tinkle but my dp doesnt like that word so its not allowed! oh well woo woos works for the time being!

ShrinkingViolet · 28/05/2007 22:17

it's all "bottom" here - you wee from the front and poo from the back. Made sense as it's all covered by knickers. Haven't had to do the "so where do babies come out then?" thing as all of mine were CS . Am going to have to broach "the talk" with DD2 soon though...
