I want my ds to grow up like I did with fave family meals and I also remember my favourite days at school being influenced by what was for lunch!
At the moment he is 5 and likes pasta brocolli, normal stuff like fish fingers chicken burgers, corn on the cob cucumber etc and we do family meals of spag Bol, prawn stir fry, Sunday dinner , jacket spud, shepherds pie and squash and mash

So what is your kids fave meal and also if you invite others over for play dates what do you do?

Need some inspiration!

Thanks

Fajitas are a firm favourite in our house!

Icklepickle101 · 15/06/2018 20:25

2.5 DS loves lamb lollipops (kebabs) with mortocan cous cous. He’d have it every day if I let him!

My kids love quorn chicken nuggets. We are not veggie but they love these. We had them tonight with oven chips for them and salad for me.

They also love spaghetti bolognaise. DD loves sausages and DS's favourite is chicken curry.

halfwitpicker · 15/06/2018 20:41

Macaroni cheese with hotdog sausages.

halfwitpicker · 15/06/2018 20:41

Gotta get on those homemade chicken nuggets

QueenB14 · 15/06/2018 20:42

DD is 3 and loves sausage casserole made with LOADS of baked beans

Would also eat garlic bread for breakfast, lunch and dinner if I let her Grin

My DCs absolutely love:
Diced apple, cheese, cucumber, and ham all mixed with rice!
I sometimes add in sweetcorn, really finely diced carrots, or chopped up olives too.
They eat the whole lot with no arguments!

Chicken and fricking chips from the chippie. I really need to get that girl out of South London *
*South Londoners you know what I mean about the chicken n chip places....

BertieBotts · 15/06/2018 20:45

Pasta with tomato sauce, sliced sausage or bacon, and sweetcorn. But only if he doesn't have it too often or he goes off it. I sometimes male it with tinned tomatoes so it doesn't have to be a jar sauce, but normally I use jarred sauce for convenience/flavour.

BeyondThePage · 15/06/2018 20:46

DD17 - Quorn Swedish style meatballs in a pasta bake with veggie mozzarella on top.

DD15 - Sweet and sour chicken with stir fried noodles and beansprouts

We are past playdates - now it is order in pizza, and disappear to the spare room to "jam" on guitars and piano

formerbabe · 15/06/2018 20:48

Roast chicken is always a winner. Kids always seem to love roast dinners.

My ds loves sweet and sour chicken with rice or noodles...I cheat with a jar of sauce!

IHeartKingThistle · 15/06/2018 20:48

Chilli and wraps. They're both obsessed.

I've gradually upped the spices over the years so they can take their chilli now ;)

NotLeanButMean · 15/06/2018 20:49

Sausage and mash is her fave.

Watching for inspiration Grin

Taytotots · 15/06/2018 20:50

Sushi but I am not making that!! so at home they both like spaghetti bognaise or any pasta and sauce or oven fish, chips and veg. Pasta usually works for playdates too as fussy kids can just have pasta and cheese. I have to cook Kraft macaroni cheese (box mix) for one fussy friend of DS as it is all they eat - at least it's easy Grin.

Gildedcage · 15/06/2018 20:52

Lasagna!! All day long. Takes ages to make though Smile

IggyAce · 15/06/2018 20:54

Both of mine love mince and dumplings and homemade meatballs in tomato sauce.
Friends over for tea I normally get the kids to make pizza wraps, they life making them and they are really easy.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 15/06/2018 20:55

Lamb meatballs and pasta with garlic bread is Ds firm favourite, any meatballs really but lamb is the favourite. Other family dishes he loves are Pastichio, home made Pizza and peanut noodles (chicken, veg and noodles in a peanut, soy and lime sauce).

Allyg1185 · 15/06/2018 20:56

Fish cakes or fish fingers

KnightsOfCydonia · 15/06/2018 21:01

DD (6) loves pepperoni pizza
DS (9) loves linguini with king prawns and a little butter mixed through.

nancy75 · 15/06/2018 21:02

Dd would eat roast dinner or chicken Kiev every day of her life if I let her

BertieBotts · 15/06/2018 21:35

I wish DS liked roast dinners! That was always my favourite as a child. He doesn't like half the veg, isn't keen on gravy and won't eat roast potatoes! Shock Or stuffing. :(

nancy75 · 15/06/2018 22:04

Bertie the problem is when they will ONLY east roast dinner - I don’t mind cooking it on a Sunday but at one point we had it nearly every night - even the oven threatened to go on strike!

EnglishGirlApproximately · 15/06/2018 22:05

DS used to love roast dinners then I made the mistake of introducing him to toad in the hole, now he asks for it every Bloody Sunday!

bluechameleon · 15/06/2018 22:12

Sausages, pasta and broccoli. No sauce, just 3 separate piles. He's only 3 so we haven't had any playdates yet.
