Grow veg with your children there is no excuse

I can not tell you how much fun it is to grow plants with your children and how good it is for your own self. Currently living in what i call my concrete garden (slabs and gravel) but managing to grow veg. Its a must please try it. Even if its water cress

I'm just answering people. I've been asked such silly things by people who didn't want help. I'm aware it's being as bad as them. Some of the comments did become rather humarious though

Do you understand that if you accidentally offend someone it is nice to apologise and correct that? You've been asked really nicely about this. Don't you want to do the decent thing op?

O if you look at the language and way in which people have been then certainly not. If people have chosen to become offended by something not offensive then upto them. Are they going to write to Nike and say how dare you say I "just do it". No they aren't. Willl Nike apologise No because of people choose to be offended so be it

I know your opinion is that it isn't offensive - do you really not understand that some people did find it offensive and your attitude is basically 'so what'. Have some empathy. It takes two minutes to say 'oops, sorry, didn't mean it like that'. Mumsnet is meant to be for support not being goady.

I love growing vegetables. We have 5 10ft x 8xft beds, however I hope to expand this in the future. Our aim is to grow everything that we eat, and we are nearly there. This year we are growing

Potatoes
Butternut squash
Caugette
Pumpkin
Tomatoes
Turnips
Sprouts
Cabbages
Asparagus

Can’t wait for it to start producing

There's more to life than veg, OP. Humility and proofreading are just two! It's interesting that you seem to think you are an expert and everyone must want your gardening/parenting tips. If you'd been a little less smug, there would have been no need for the other thread and you might have learnt a few useful tips yourself from more experienced posters, such as PrimalLass.

veg is a vital part of our diet no shit, sherlock! You'd need an awful lot of land and time to grow enough to feed your family though. Roping in a couple of toddlers to throw water at a broad bean isn't going to do it! Crack on if it makes you happy. Just don't put down other people who aren't able to go full Good Life.
