I can not tell you how much fun it is to grow plants with your children and how good it is for your own self. Currently living in what i call my concrete garden (slabs and gravel) but managing to grow veg. Its a must please try it. Even if its water cress Smile

Wasting my time so I shall now ignore you and I really dont care if that offends you

Obi after not intentionally getting a lot of comments due to the subject I learned that writing a title like that gains a lot of comments a few negative but then eventually you sift through to the positive ones and ignore those

It came up on active and your title annoyed me ...

And I didn't say that I don't garden. But my kids do not care. I've bought them things to plant, I've asked them to help out, I've taken them to work. They would not wake up in the morning all excited about what they have grown.

I've had some marvellous comments on the only child one. And the breastfeeding one too.
Again yourve seen this and instead of research gardening yourve chosen to delve into mumsnet to win an argument I really don't care about. I'm finding this all hilarious 😂

Cloudy that's a great tip about planting the actual eggboxes the seeds are raised in!

We grow carrots successfully in a deep pot by mixing sand and potting compost together - and a hardy F1 variety is usually a good bet!

Am I too late to start perpetual spinach? Can I ask what variety you use pls?

Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 09:29

Primal be offended if you choose to be op doesn't mind. Enjoy your day 😀 ( o no your going to be offended now because I demanded you enjoy your day)

PrimalLass · 26/04/2018 09:29

Me? I. Work. At. A. Garden.

I don't really need to spend time researching it.

PrimalLass · 26/04/2018 09:30

I'm not at all offended. Others on the thread are though. But never mind eh?

Anyway. Off to write some stuff about plants.

Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 09:31

Primal i cannot help those who chose to be offended

Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 09:31

What if you live in a flat with no garden and no room in the flat to grow stuff/ can't afford it?

Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 09:41

I was initially shocked by the comments I got here. Then I learned how to get people to click and read my questions, then I laughed so very much at some of these. I really hope you all garden anything with the kids you must!
Conclusion I've learnt, I've shown people the way to the other page, I've laughed, I've argued back ass peope wanted but because I don't care for the people who chose to be offended on this thread that will achieve nothing.
Get planting guys and remover if you ignore the negative again and again they do gap away, unlike yesterday when I chose to address some. Childish but I missed the funny comments 💚🌱

SleepingInYourFlowerbed · 26/04/2018 10:43

Ha! You missed my point entirely. It's not watercress you are growing.

TheVanguardSix · 26/04/2018 10:45

Gwyneth Paltrow OP, you're painfully smug. The clue is in your title. You have a great idea but you have no idea how to communicate effectively to a broader audience. You assume everyone has your mentality, the temperament of your kid(s), the access to land that you have, the time, funds, and resources, the interest. And when you assume, Gwyneth OP, you make an ASS of U and ME.

It's ok for parents not to want to garden with their kids, OP. They're still nice people and good parents (even if their kids play Roblox on a tablet and prefer Gregg's over cress... it'll all work out).

Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 10:54

Yourve actually made my day. To be compared to Gwyneth Paltrow a strong women who empowers others. Thank you
To have such a mind where you think you can grow veg or eat at greggs. You can grow cress or play the tablet. My dear you can do both 🤗It's a strange concept to think one or the other.

Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 10:55

I love that Ass out of u and me 😂That parking ticket joke was very amusing

OP posts:
Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 11:01

After reading these comments I don't want to talk to the broader audience now as they waste time, really don't show any enthusiasm to do anything other than be offended and winge. I would be totally wasting my time giving tips and advice like others I have seen try to in the post. 🤗

OP posts:
TheVanguardSix · 26/04/2018 11:02

It was a fabulous joke! He's a very funny guy and I am a big fan. BUT! It's not his original joke, OP. He too borrowed it. Isn't everything borrowed? Even your idea of children holding hands and swinging buckets of cress in the breeze singing Kumbaya is not your original concept.
We both watch Cats Does Countdown, Gwyn OP!
Could we possibly get along in real life?
I grow mint in my kitchen window. Do I get a house point?

Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 11:09

O dear growing veg with your children does not involve them singing or holding hands.

OP posts:
Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 11:10

IT can do though and I'm sure They would love It

OP posts:
Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 11:11

This idea that you have to be a perfect mum (there is no such thing) to grow veg is nonsense and needs to change. Anyone can do it 😀

OP posts:
cloudtree · 26/04/2018 12:23

I'm confused now OP. You seem to be trying to deliberately provoke people with today's posts. Its a shame.

saltcrust no definitely not too late to sow perpetual spinach. Mine is a suttons pack, it doesn't state the variety but it says sow March to July Harvest June - March. I have only recently stopped harvesting from plants from last year. £1.99 a pack and the pack will easily have seen me through 3 years with loads of seed to spare.

Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 12:25

Yes I think everyone worked so hard to turn this into something it wasn't so another thread needed to be made so I'm sinking to their level and answering the nonsense with nonsense.

OP posts:
Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 12:26

Expect for you and others who kept it going to what it was but now there's a new thread then they can co timid the rubbish and I'll answer

OP posts:
cloudtree · 26/04/2018 14:51

Probably not a good idea though OP since your thread will just get pulled if you're deliberately goading others and its a shame when there's some useful information on here.
