I think people should learn tact and how to start a conversation without being judgemental, and how to apologise if offended people by accident. Maybe you can muster up some enthusiasm to learn that skill so your kids don't miss out.

PrimalLass · 26/04/2018 08:58

chose to be offended by myself encouraging people to plant with their children

Encourage away. But your language is patronising and in places insulting.

Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 08:58

Yes all those who wasted readers time with silly statements and comments that had nothing to do with gardening could alolagise . Those who had people helping them with there dilemmas but had no real intention of gardening yes they could apologise. I highly doubt they would.

If only it was that simple!
I enjoy gardening and used to help my grandad when I was primary school age. It was always my dream to grow veg and keep chickens as I grew up in a manky town in the midlands with limited gardening space.
I now live rurally near the coast. We have a big garden, a Polytunnel, veg plot, chickens, etc.
My 9 yr DS isn't the slightest bit interested in playing outside and won't even go and collect the eggs from the coop.
You can take a horse to water....

Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 09:03

The unfortunatly people can't be bothered to take the horse to water they'd rather winge on here about being offened.
Be rude and swear then demand an apology.

Kids are far more used t TVs and phones and tablets now a days for entertainment but that's parents

OP posts:
Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 09:04

Which is another reason I got into it far more good from planting than watching tv

Primal seems to be sifting through the swear words and getting offended by my language. Cress

When someone says . I don't like cress then my only reply assuming they wanted help was to say still grown it so it's not wasted give it to a neighbour. Again they chose to take offence by that. I now no that's because they didn't really want help they just wanted to argue and waste good people's time.

No it's your thread so I'm talking about your language.

wizzywig · 26/04/2018 09:09

Only on page 4, when you say you can grow in a bag, what do you mean?

Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 09:10

Primal lass what on earth are you talking about

OP posts:
Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 09:12

WIzzy wig there's a link I think on page 7 to a gardening with kids page where you don't have to sift through this nonsense. They'll be able to help 😀

Primal lass what on earth are you talking about

I am answering your post from less than ten minutes ago...

Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 09:15

Yes but what is the question. What do you want

OP posts:
PrimalLass · 26/04/2018 09:20

It's a shame the people who chose to be offended by such a good idea and refused at every turn to try it and take on the tips are the ones I fear who would have gained the most from it. I suspect not them but their children would have.

This is what I'm talking about by the way.

Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 09:21

O yes definetly the people who chose not to take the positives from this are the ones who would have benefited most

corcaithecat · 26/04/2018 09:22

wizzywig You can re-use the old plastic bags that the compost came in. Turn them inside out and cut a few holes in the bottom for drainage. Fill about a third with some compost/soil mixture and plant a couple of seed potatoes in it. You have to top up the soil a bit as the potato plant grows.
When they're ready, just tip the bag up and no digging required. You can grow carrots easily this way too. Grin

Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 09:23

It also shows me that perhaps if this is a good idea argued at every turn what else are they turning down. It's a shame like someone suggested I should tap dance I'm actually going to try it when mine gets home. It won't. It won't be perfect but I'm sure it'll be a giggle and I'll no doubt be slightly healthier for getting the extra exercise

OP posts:
PrimalLass · 26/04/2018 09:23

Or those who just don't want to garden. Or can't for the reasons they have given you.

I work in a garden, we have a garden, my mum is obsessed with growing veg. My kids DO NOT CARE. Not interested in any way. Too busy doing hours of sport every week.

ObiJuanKenobi · 26/04/2018 09:23

How many annoying threads do you need with goady titles being super proud of yourself in one week?!
Sorry we aren't all perfect breast feeding, home growers with lovely sharing children Hmm
'Grow your own veg there's no excuse'
'One child families cause kids that don't share'
'Proud to have breast fed'

Not sure if you're just trying to annoy people or what

Keepdlingwhatyourgutsays · 26/04/2018 09:23

Or i could have gone I'm not tapping dancing I have no tap shoes and my home is carpet but o didn't. I also didn't chose to be offended and because of that me and mine will have ten minutes giggle try to tap dance 😂
