My child hates me today because...

...because he's a teenager and I told him if he does his chores (only 4!) then he will get his pocket money, if he doesn't then he won't. Obviously I'm being unreasonable and need a visit from SS.

Why does your child hate you today?

It's a record. Both my dc hate me and it's not even 7.30 as I wouldn't let them jump on my bed with me still in it.
It's going to be a long day.

Because he woke up at 5 this morning and has therefore has had secondary fury because:
a) I wouldn't make his porridge in a series of tiny pots and insisted that I was making it in a normal-sized bowl
b) I wouldn't let him use 6 spoons to eat his porridge
c) I objected to him poking me hard in the face
d) the lightbulb in the living room blew last thing last night and I hadn't replaced it by this morning
e) I asked if he wanted to go to the library later
f) I wouldn't let him go next door and ask our neighbour to play her violin at 6am (he was cross at the time, but even crosser now that he's remembered)
g) he woke up in the night and couldn't see what colour his pyjamas were because it was dark

I am cross about half of these things too though (particularly the getting up at 5am one!) so I suppose we'll just have to grump our way through the day together and hope for the best...

DS11 because I took his PS4 controller from him last night so he couldn't wake up and play it first thing today.

DD7 because there's only boring fruit for breakfast and no raspberries / blueberries for pancakes as there has been every other day this week !

Their dad picks them up at 1 I'm on countdown !

I'm not sure why DD hates be today because she's not speaking to me. I went into her room and she waved her flute at me and ordered "Be off!"

Because I'm refusing to buy her vodka for a party tonight .... she's 16. I'm the only parent who is 'so uptight about everything apparently'.

I'm suggested other alcoholic drinks she could take, I'm not saying no to all of it - a few beers/ciders/whatever .... just not spirits.

Biggest teenager hates everyone today because he spent 5 hours at his hobby place but didn't get a chance to play (warhammer) - he could have played, there was a space, there were people to play, and I pointed all this out at the time and encouraged him to go play but he hung back not doing anything and the space was taken by others so sulks, grunts and big sighs all the way home while telling me he's unbelievably depressed and I shouldn't have taken him.

Sorry, next time I won't drop everything I need do for a full day in order to take you somewhere you want to be

Because he didn't want to eat chicken! I wasn't offering him any...

But he did later forgive me, I got him a drink and he said 'yes that's good mummy! Good job! I like it when you play nicely' and he forgave me for being naughty, I even got a cuddle, he's really in to parenting me at the minute

Because I won’t let her wee standing up but her twin brother is allowed to!
My DD was cross because I wouldn't let her lie on her back on the potty to wee.
Funny that as it goes all over the floor.

Because we both drove across town to watch her play in a football match which on arrival she decided she was too tired/cold to play. She was adamant she wanted both myself & DH there. We watched the match to support her team. Wasted a whole morning driving there and back & watching the match. On returning home a note went on the bedroom door 'do not come in'. We were too busy doing the jobs we could have been doing earlier - had she not made us drive across town - to want to go in anyway. It's hard being nearly 10...

Not allowing chocolate biscuits for breakfast from the 3yr old

No computers before school from 5yr old

The fact I didn't go shopping today and buy strawberrys ready for breakfast from the 8yr old

All this will be before 8am! - thank goodness for then to make me feel warm & loved
