What to take for show and tell

My son is in year one and has to bring something for show and tell tomorrow starting with the initial sound 'i' as in 'igloo'. I can only think of instrument which I don't have lol. Any ideas would be much appreciated Smile

Iron (prob not a great idea). Iguana (doubt you have one). Insurance document (not v exciting). I hope someone else comes along with some more inspiration.

That's a tough one. Ice cream scoop?

Insect? Do you have any toy insects? Or maybe print of a photo of an insect.

CakesRUs · 09/10/2017 19:21

Insect?

hippyhippyshake · 09/10/2017 19:22

LittleBirdBlues · 09/10/2017 19:22

Ink?

GoGoGazelle · 09/10/2017 19:23

ink pen?

hippyhippyshake · 09/10/2017 19:23

Oh yes, insect is good.

MrsTerryPratchett · 09/10/2017 19:24

Has to be short 'i' not ah-ee noise, right? So instrument, insect, igloo or iguana. Not ice cream or iron? We did a coloured picture of an iguana.

koalab · 09/10/2017 19:24

Hehe,. I like Hippies idea. He could take the internet like in the IT crowd.

itsgood2talk · 09/10/2017 19:25

Insect is a great idea - I seem to remember he had an insect plastic toy although god knows where it is.

India is a good one - maybe I will print out a map 🤔.

No iguanas but I have a toy lizard is that the same? Lol

We struggled with A too which I throughly would be easy and he ended up taking armbands lol 😂

@MrsTerryPratchett yes exactly it has to be phonetically which is so much harder lol I find myself saying the names of things out loud to check lol. For A my son wanted to take an aeroplane but that wasn't allowed lol

Iron- take in an iron hinge, nail or other object?
Icing- make a fairy cake and ice it- lunch and show and tell
Ink- a fountain pen or cartridge/pot of ink. Perhaps with an ink eraser too!

Hulababy · 09/10/2017 19:35

Does it need to be the short /i/ sound, rather than the longer sounds, such as /eye/ in iron?

DrSeuss · 09/10/2017 19:36

Go all "Sound of Music" and take himself then say he's "incorrigible"?

PanannyPanoo · 09/10/2017 19:39

anything interesting!

RightOnTheEdge · 09/10/2017 19:40

It can't be iron or icing as they start with an eye sound not a short i like igloo

minipie · 09/10/2017 19:45

Illustration? Image? Invention? can all be interpreted quite flexibly
