If Kelly is a mumsnetter I would just say really really well done..!!!!
I really felt for her + thought she did incredibly well...
Query ... why is it that on TV- the only ones with problems are single/ and or working class parents???
Answer... because they are the most HONEST.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I agree - she did so well...

I really related to her as I am a young mum too and had a spell as a single mum and got to a not coping stage.

I was really proud of her and so nice to see how much closer the kids got.

marthamoo · 14/07/2004 22:22

She was a sweet girl - she was just out of her depth and had let it get out of control. She did fantastically well, didn't she? I felt quite tearful at the end, seeing her house all tidy, and her kids getting on, and her applying to the O.U. Bloody good on her - that's what I say

I warmed to the nanny this week too - you could tell she really wanted it to work, and that she felt real affection for the children - that didn't come across last week.

Was a real Feel Good programme tonight - a refreshing change!

If she's not a MNer she should be..someone ring C4!

Recommended MN to a complete stranger monday night at work. Gentleman was in buying bits and bobs for a friend who had just had a baby (still in hospital) but was alone, no father involved. So, I opened my big mouth and told him to get her on here for a bit of support if she wanted it - even wrote it on a piece of receipt roll for him! Died of shame afterwards, do I need to get a life????????? Must do something other than MN and ebay

unicorn · 14/07/2004 22:25

aha twiggy but have u talked fammy farts in TV????@!!!!!
yup marthamoo- thought Supernanny was quite involved! But a bit of interaction does no harm...in fact makes it all more real-I reckon.

I wondered whether the children's father had been a bit of a bully and that's why the mother was so unassertive...
Really good to see her so positive at the end. And wasn't her mother great?

unicorn · 14/07/2004 22:58

did i say fammy farts??!!!

Oh me too, marthmoo, my eyes were full of tears when she said that doing an OU degree was a lifelong dream. She was lovely, and did so well. The little boy was a sweetheart too.

unicorn · 14/07/2004 23:01

edam... wouldn't it be soooooooo nice to have such a supportive mum..
(but I reckon there has been bit of a problem betwixt the two.. usually mum daughter relationship thing/// lots of editing in tv as per usual)

Now then, Miaou. I'm using my stern voice of authority to tell you that if you don't stop trying to kill this thread I shall make you go and sit in the 'Naughty Corner' thread.

unicorn · 14/07/2004 23:33

lol SUPER.. coppertop!!

OP posts:
marthamoo · 14/07/2004 23:35

I have a better idea - I will sit quietly in the corner while my kids misbehave wildly. "Go away! Mummy's in the naughty corner!"

unicorn · 14/07/2004 23:37

Better still.. how about WE Trash the place.. don't eat anything and attack everyone... and see what our kids do???

OP posts:
coppertop · 14/07/2004 23:39

I suspect my dh would think that "naughty corner" had an entirely different meaning!
