me- quite often.

im pissed off with it tbh. If i didnt have 2 assignments to do i would reply with a longer post.

why have you got hyphens seperating every word btw?

cazzybabs · 27/03/2007 11:20

me - all the time. My evenings like this...

5.30-6 home from work
6 - 7 Feed the dds and put them to bed
7 - 8 catch up on MN
8 open Ou books
8.05 Fall asleep
11p wake up, brush teeth, try to go to bed, fail to fall asleep having been asleep before.

I like you have cut out caffine (whist TTC) - I have 1 cup of tea in the morning.

I have only done the TMAs - but because I am a teacher I use my long summer break to catch up with revision (actuqlly that is alittle lie - I question spot and revise the questions 2 weeks before the exam). I ame out with a pass 2 for my psyhologu course! Not bad for someone who works full time and has 2 small children.

This year Iam doing S103 (no exam just an long TMA) and S320.

I think it coul dbe the bit between 7-8 where I am going wrong...maybe this would be a good time to work and not MN!

grannycracksopenabottleofwine · 27/03/2007 12:09

shiny - i find this a problem too. what course are you doing? i am on my last one - my 6th year!!!! feels like it's been going on for ever. my strategy is this :

start each book enthusiastically, reading in the evenings as soon as the lo's are in bed.

remember every few nights to do a bit more

about 10 days before assignment, look selectively through book, including skimmimg all unread bits to get required info.

finally read through all bits a few weeks before exam, taking notes, whenever the opp arises

few days before exam, get help with children and work, and aim to do nothing else

hth

I am a little too laid back.

It is quite good at the mo because dh is also doing an OU maths degree. He started one when he did his undergrd degree but swopped to comp sci. So we study together (when I am awake) although he has finished all his books so far (he did his degree at Cambridge so is very very clever). .

I sat down to study last night at around 7 ish, dcs had been in bed half hour or so, woke up at 10pm with my sister calling my mobile. Had a nice pool of dribble on my book and an imprint of the words 'legal personality' on my cheek, not a good look

Me...! Except I fall asleep marking the essays, not writing them!

Oh... and have I mentioned that 69% is a bloody good mark? (You know I have! But you still insist it isn't! So... are you going to listen to Dr Ellbell, or not? Eh? You there at the back! Yes you! WAKE UP AND LISTEN!)

cazzybabs · 27/03/2007 12:18

Emskilou - re the dribble - that is just what happens to me. Poor dh - it is amazing he comes anywhere near me!

Really struggling to write this bloody essay. I've spent ALL morning on one paragraph for goodness sake.

lol at emskilou

i too think 69% is a good mark.

some things i've found useful - tutors have given me extensions quite often when i've had just too much on. i even missed an exam once due to baby ill in hospital. the ou were very helpful and arranged for me to take it a few days later. i find them very flexible.

sometimes if i get stuck on a tma i try and work backwards - just writing down how you think you might end it and then see what material you need to support what you're saying. it helps to think of it differently

tiredemma · 27/03/2007 13:17

Shiny- its like your writing in bloody morse code!!!!!!

im so stressed, i hav so much to do by next week, i know what i have to do- i just cannot find the stregnth to do it.

see i cant even be bothered to make my i's into I's- thats how tired i am!
