OK, thoughts folks.....

I have a few friends who have recently had DD and have posted pictures on social media of them in wee baby headbands (images below- these are just from Google btw) I don't know why, but I just think it's a bit much? What do people think; cute or OTT?

I think they look daft.

Orangedaisy · 03/07/2017 14:38

Hate them (although the babies are obviously lovely). But if people want to dress up their baby then that's up to them. You don't get much back from tiny ones so if it gives them pleasure then fine, I would just silently judge and label them chavvy 😀.

My DD often gets mistaken for a boy (doesn't bother me at all) so perhaps people do it to emphasise their child is a girl. Still personally think they look silly though!

They look a bit silly but no sillier than those mahsooove JOJO bows that i see little girls wear. Some mums like over the top froufrou

MrsJayy · 03/07/2017 14:41

I think that is what it is my baby is a girl statement

I think they look daft and I think any sort of hair bands are pretty pointless in someone who doesn't have hair and is too young to decide they want to wear one.

But as long as they are removed before they sleep then each to their own

2sCompany · 03/07/2017 14:45

Makes them look like Easter eggs, hate the stupid things.

My health visitor recently warned me against them as a baby suffocated and died when one fell over her nose and mouth.

So, both ugly and dangerous.

Grumpus21 · 03/07/2017 19:08

Echo was 2scompany said. They aren't safe and can easily be pulled down x

myusernameisnotmyusername · 03/07/2017 19:17

I also read about a baby who was put down for a nap in one and suffocated to death. I've never liked them. I think they're silly and unnecessary but each to their own. I also hate those bows and felt like a mean mum for not getting one for dd the other week!

Alisvolatpropiis · 03/07/2017 19:19

I hate them. Tacky and dangerous.

n0ne · 03/07/2017 19:55

Really dislike them. Tacky

URaflutteringcunt · 03/07/2017 19:56

I wonder if they are trying to hide massive ears! They look rubbish.

RingTailedLemurFan · 03/07/2017 19:57

Horrid, tacky and agree make bald heads look like Easter eggs. Also agree they're dangerous. I have friends and family members who have used them and I have to watch my tongue/not grimace!

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 03/07/2017 20:00

Babies' skulls haven't fused together yet and are still changing shape. Why put a band around it and risk that altering the shape?

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 03/07/2017 20:02

They look like those rosettes people stick on their horses.

Vebrithien · 03/07/2017 20:02

Have used a thin one on DD, as her hair is now falling into her eyes, and clips don't always stay in. But think those are a bit on the big side! Gave up after DD kept pulling it off...

Redsippycup · 03/07/2017 20:03

Clicked thread to say about the poor baby that died when slipped over her nose and mouth in case anyone didn't know about it - but I've been beaten to it.

Surely it's common sense not to have accessible any kind of closed loop big enough to go around their neck?

WanderingTrolley1 · 03/07/2017 21:26

They're usually found adoring the child of a certain type of person.

WanderingTrolley1 · 03/07/2017 21:26

*adorning

harleysmammy · 03/07/2017 21:41

They look ridiculous. I don't mind the really thin bands with a little tiny bow but ones like that are stupid

SolomanDaisy · 03/07/2017 21:47

No baby died. It was a Facebook hoax.

Flisspaps · 03/07/2017 21:52

Fucking naff.

DarkestBeforeDawn · 03/07/2017 22:21

Absolutely bloody awful.

voobylooby · 04/07/2017 02:43

Solomondaisy not identical style but sadly not a hoax*
