OK, thoughts folks.....

I have a few friends who have recently had DD and have posted pictures on social media of them in wee baby headbands (images below- these are just from Google btw) I don't know why, but I just think it's a bit much? What do people think; cute or OTT?

I think they're absolutely adorable! I love baby headbands!

Have posted this link before, on the subject of baby headbands. It takes 1g of pressure to cause movement of the soft bones in a baby's skull, but more than 1g of pressure to adequately hold a headband in place, therefore the chance of damage to the skull is definitely present. That's not to say that it will happen in all or even most cases but I personally wouldn't take even that slight risk for the sake of a pointless accessory.

I've had SO many people asking me to make these monstrosities! They'd take me about a half hour to make, and make me a few quid a fucking fortune- but I've refused! They're vile!

UnbornMortificado · 04/07/2017 04:54

They make me wince, my SIL loves all the stupidly expensive frilly Spanish clothes (not my taste but each to there own) and even she thinks they are daft.

SolomanDaisy · 04/07/2017 06:00

vooby, that story is literally just a link to the Facebook hoax story. People need to stop spreading this made up stuff. No baby has died from a headband.

voobylooby · 04/07/2017 06:41

Ah, I read it on the echo at the time. Only realised now link had been deleted. My bad!

BuzzKillington · 04/07/2017 06:50

Hideous.

I was walking behind a woman in M&S yesterday. Her bald baby in a pram was sporting a massive white bow on its head.

Apart from looking ridiculous, I thought it must be really uncomfortable.

numberseven · 04/07/2017 06:52

Someone in a group local to me was asking recently if she could glue the huge headband bow onto her baby's head as it kept falling. She was concerned her bald little baby looked like a boy. Hmm

MaisyPops · 04/07/2017 06:53

Ridiculous and awful. They're children not presents. But then I hate Jo Jo bows too.

Purdyandwheezy · 04/07/2017 07:02

Numberseven - you should send your friend the link to girly glue girlieglue.com/?page_id=63 I thought this was a joke at first but actually think they're serious Shock

chipscheeseandgravy · 04/07/2017 07:02

I'm amazed babies tolerate wearing them. Mine used to scream his head of every time I put a hat on him. He's now quite capable of taking said hat of and launching it from his pushchair Angry.
They also look bloody awful.
