Under the sea or clouds and rainbows???

Or baby boy is due on November 10th. We have a room for him but we don't want to buy and furniture or decor until we know what theme we are choosing. We are stuck between under the sea and clouds and rainbows. Both are equally cute.
We would paint the walls dark turquoise/aqua for under the sea and pale blue for clouds and rainbows. My mum has an art degree and will be painting the decor on top of the base colour (sea creatures and plants or clouds connected by rainbows).

If you had to choose, what would you go for?

You sound like a 15 year old gamer with nothing better to do than annoy real parents on a forum. I'm out.

Pubs serve non-alcoholic drinks, you know.

You're not Scientologists, are you?

He doesnt ever tell me what to do. We decide together. If he wants something for tea and I want something else, we will choose a different thing alltogether.

So neither of you can have what you fancy because you have to have the same?

Out of interest how old are you?

TittyGolightly · 07/07/2017 11:14

Marriage is the ultimate societal construct.

TittyGolightly · 07/07/2017 11:15

16+10=26.

So just because we dont drink and we play video games we must be 15? Fuck off.

Lots of grown people dont drink and play video games. Video games are fun! And drinking destroys your liver! Its not rocket science.

Wait, what?

So you both go without just so you can have the same thing?

Bonkers as conkers.

MummyMiddleton · 07/07/2017 11:17

Im 26. Also, how is prommising to love someone til death mean anything bad? Even if it is traditional, its sweet and not toxic like most traditions. Its just simply two people becoming one in the name of love. Love is magical!

Essie

Yeah. Say he wanted curry and I wanted steak. Why not have fish and chips? We both want that.

TittyGolightly · 07/07/2017 11:23

Ah. So tradition doesn't make you sick.

Marriage didn't come about for love - it was the transfer of the ownership of women. It is still a legal arrangement, not an emotional one.

You can promise to love some one forever without marriage. You can be married for the legal protection it affords. Doesn't change where it came from.

quarterpast · 07/07/2017 11:23

It's not because you don't drink that you sound 15. Every single thing you have said on this thread sounds like it's coming from a totally underdeveloped mind and framed in the way that only the arrogance of youth can provide. You've got a lot of growing up to do.

EssieTregowan · 07/07/2017 11:23

Yesterday, dh and the kids had chicken pie. I didn't fancy stodgy food in the heat so I made myself a bowl of pasta.

That's fairly normal, I would have thought?

BrieOnAnOatcake · 07/07/2017 11:24

You have an interesting way of thinking. It's very black and white.

MyFavouriteName · 07/07/2017 11:24

I have a relationship built on respect and equality. But we are not the same people.

You work together in the home you live in together. You don't go out unless you go together. You don't eat something unless the other one wants the same. It's really not healthy at all. Do you spend any time apart at all?

Sirzy · 07/07/2017 11:27

It's normal here essie for one thing if you think I am living on the limited diet DS has you have another things coming HmmGrin

I wonder how the eating the same will work when the baby gets older and inevitably goes through fussy stages?

MyFavouriteName · 07/07/2017 11:31

Actually I'm not sure why I'm bothering to reply. You don't want advice.

As I said before, I think the cloud idea is nicer. Perhaps you could put a cuckoo in there somewhere. I wish you lots of luck with the birth and new baby. Enjoy him. Babies are wonderful.

MummyMiddleton · 07/07/2017 11:39

Titty

Did I also mention how marriage means both parents have equal custody and parental rights?

OP posts:
MummyMiddleton · 07/07/2017 11:43

Sirzy

When I was little I had to eat what everyone else ate. If I didnt eat it I went hungry. I wasnt pittied and given special chicken nuggets and potato smileys. Ffs. If your kid goes through a fussy phase, teach them that its not acceptible. Thats what my parents did with me and I grew out if it very quickly. I even ate snails at a french restaurant when I was 6. Im not feeding Daniel any of that junk food, processed shite. Never. Hes not even going to come close enough to smell it. Do you even know whats in chicken nuggets?

OP posts:
Sirzy · 07/07/2017 11:44

Grin this gets funnier and funnier!

MummyMiddleton · 07/07/2017 11:45

Sirzy

How is it funny? Whats wrong with not introducing american junk crap into my childs diet?

OP posts:
EssieTregowan · 07/07/2017 11:45

Hahahahahahah!

Sirzy · 07/07/2017 11:46

I think it is just another example as to how naive you are and that you are expecting your child to be some sort of perfect being.

Some things you can't control and I really think you need to accept that now or you are in for a very tough few years!

MummyMiddleton · 07/07/2017 11:46

You cant miss something you dont know. People who are blind from birth dont feel sad because they cant see. They dont know any different. If Daniel never even tries junk food, how will he crave it?
