Cleaning foreskin - 3 year old.

You have to clean under the foreskin, right?

DS's foreskin now pulls back (of his own doing) so to clean it we just pull back, quick wash and done?

OP posts:

So everyone agreed then 👍

Wadingthroughsoup · 21/09/2016 23:16

Not really. 👋🏻🖖🏻

Jasonandyawegunorts · 22/09/2016 02:13

The page even agreed. Nothing needs to be done.

Oh 😕☹️😰

Wadingthroughsoup · 22/09/2016 08:49

The page agreed with Dementedpixie: once the child can pull back his own foreskin, explain to him how to clean his penis.

I feel like I'm in a parallel universe.

SleepFreeZone · 22/09/2016 09:32

I have a feeling if I could access my Mumsnet email account i would have a warning in there re. my deleted posts. So I shall say Rightio and let you have your last word 😊

Jasonandyawegunorts · 22/09/2016 12:13

The page agreed with Dementedpixie: once the child can pull back his own foreskin, explain to him how to clean his penis.

The first 3 bullet points on the page agreed with everyone else. you need to do nothing. Demented pixie then agreed at 3 years old, you need to do nothing.

SleepFreeZone · 22/09/2016 12:28

Jason just back away,
It's not worth it.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 22/09/2016 12:31

It's Not but i want to keep this thread active so i can get clarification on why my comment was deleted.

SleepFreeZone · 22/09/2016 12:47

You will never get clarification on that because they will stick to their guns regardless and all you will get is a stomach ulcer.

I have been here since time began and it's honestly not worry giving it head space.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 22/09/2016 12:52

You are right, I doubt i will.
It highlights the big issue with the report system, that they quickly rush through scaning the posts, not understanding the thread and delete whatever.

This is fine, what's worse is MNHQ's absoluty insistance nothing is wrong with the way things are done.

SleepFreeZone · 22/09/2016 12:56

There are more injustices out there I promise you. This is just a spot on the nose of inconsequence 😊

Jasonandyawegunorts · 22/09/2016 12:57

Part of a much bigger on going problem though

SleepFreeZone · 22/09/2016 13:15

That will never be solved. It's a private site, they can run it how they like and if any of us have an issue we can leave and go elsewhere.

I used to own a pretty busy health orientated site and no matter how I tried I could never please everyone. I got sick of the trolls and nutters and closed it down in the end. Wasn't worth the trouble.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 22/09/2016 13:20

if any of us have an issue we can leave and go elsewhere.

And yet they absolutly insist this isn't the case.

I do think they try, I really do.
However something isn't working. There has to be an acknowledgement somewhere along the line that things need to change.
It's been madness recently, almost all minority groups are experiencing discrimination / prejudice on a daily bases. Meanwhile the site makes money from the moderator inaction.
There is a big problem when multiple groups are experiancing exactly the same thing repeatedly.

SleepFreeZone · 22/09/2016 13:40

I wonder sometimes if the troll threads are allowed to run because they generate money through click bait. I have also wondered aloud if they get paid by the Daily Mail etc when they use their material for stories 🤔

Jasonandyawegunorts · 22/09/2016 13:44

I've asked this, Click bait YES, that's factual, They get ad revenue through page views, so the longer things are left to stand the better.
Finders fee for the Mail, no.

Mycraneisfixed · 22/09/2016 13:46

Leave it alone.

SleepFreeZone · 22/09/2016 14:04

But I guess Daily Mail stories lead to clicks so that's all good 🙄

MyCrane be careful, you'll get banned for saying things like that!!

user1474551282 · 22/09/2016 15:05

NO you should never pull down the penis of a 3 year old. I am surprised you haven't googled this as I did when I had a son 7 years ago. You are right in saying your son does it himself, which is exactly what is supposed to happen, but did you prompt him to do this? because as I remember its normally when they are about 6 or 7 that they can actually retract the foreskin. 3 years old willies are too underdeveloped.
Foreskin is there for a good reason and as long as you wash the area, that is enough until they deal with it themselves. absolutely horrified that you would even contemplate pulling a 3 year old foreskin down!

Jasonandyawegunorts · 23/09/2016 19:25

Apparently my post contained a personal attack, this has been coinfirmed by email....
However MNHQ haven't yet been able to specify what part of the post contained a personal attack....

But i'm hopeful for some kind of answer as it's the only way i will learn not to do whatever it was i did again.

SleepFreeZone · 23/09/2016 21:09

I don't remember any of your posts containing anything offensive. I think I said fuck off or fuck that or something so perhaps they were getting you muddled up with me.

MyWineTime · 23/09/2016 23:06

The OP clearly stated that her son does this of his own accord - my son did the same around that age. I certainly had nothing to do with it and I never suggested it.
I did exactly as that link advises:
"once the foreskin is easily pulled back, your son should learn to do this as part of normal washing in the bath"

Jasonandyawegunorts · 25/09/2016 11:28

I think I said fuck off or fuck that or something so perhaps they were getting you muddled up with me.

My post said:
Please don't listen to Demented pixie the advice could end up causing damage.

as MNHQ haven't got back to me about specifics of what was a personal attack i'm going to assume there's nothing in it personal attack wise.

SleepFreeZone · 25/09/2016 13:04

Didn't you say 'leave it alone' a few times? Could that be a personal attack? 🤔
