How old were your babies when they started sleeping through?

I'm really struggling with my DS who is now 7 weeks, he wakes at least 3 times in the night for a feed. He is bottle fed but has been having 6/7 oz so it's taking a long time to feed him.
Its really starting to interrupt his sleep as he wont settle straight after a bottle.
I keep being told and reading about women who's babies sleep right through from being 4 weeks.
Can anyone give me some advice on how to get him to settle/ reduce feeds before I turn into a total and utter zombie?

First son 18 months

Second has just turned 18 months and he sleeps thorough maybe 5 nights out of 7.

7 weeks is way too early to think about this. Even if they do sleep through at that age things change really quickly and they go through good and bad sleep phases.

Both of mine slept from around 10/12 weeks because if they didn't I'd have ended up a basket case Grin

Routine (I know it's a dirty word these days)
Perseverance
Own room
Blackout curtains

Ds1 slept 11-7 at 9 weeks
Dt1 about 12 months
Dt2 2.5 years

This thread has made me feel so much better, my dd is 9 months and still wakes up a few times a night. I can't believe I haven't slept more than 5 hours in 9 months, I think I've actually got used to it now. She's also only recently started napping more than 45mins and even now it's sporadic. Today has been back to the 45 min nanonaps.

If I woke up at 7 or whatever and she'd slept through I would FREAK THE FUCK OUT.

The first time they do it it does FREAK YOU THE FUCK OUT Grin

My son didn't sleep through til 12/13 months. I was in a dark place from sleep deprivation and I shudder at the memories. One night he just started sleeping through 7-7 and that was that.
DD slept through from about 8/9 weeks old. Didn't do a single thing differently with them. I think of sleep as a 'skill' they learn like other milestones like walking, talking etc - some aren't ready til later and all children are different.

13/14 months, which from talking to friends seems pretty standard. At 7 weeks you've a while to go yet I'm afraid! From about 6 months it was mainly just one 30 minute feed at about 3am so quite manageable.

Mine did from 7 months to about 9 months. Now he's starting waking up again (he's 11 months) but that's probably connected to stuff changing and being a bit unsettled with me going back to work. The regression is annoying and I'm tired but he'll sleep properly eventually (I keep telling myself...)

I'm also hoping that DD2 will start sleeping through when she begins school in 2 weeks' time. She will be 5 by then.

Good luck, OP. 7 weeks is still so little.
