lost bracelets for days out?

I have a 4 year old and walking 13th month old and now that the weather is getting better trying to plan days out for us. Just thinking of the best type of lost wrist bands for my children to wear whilst at theme parks, zoos etc. Can you help with any suggestions of best ones to use please?

I'd just get a load of really cheap ones from eBay - the type you get at a fair. They don't rip off and you can write anything on there. Cheap too

Thanks for your suggestion Tea, I was hoping for something with printed/imprinted on a band. I'm not fussed about the cost aslong as it looks good and includes vital info.
Do many patents use them? Or are there any other alternatives out there?

I bought one on eBay last year. It's a rubber (charity style) bracelet, with "if lost, please phone ... " on it

I've never considered this. Surely the little one on reins/in pram and the older one just with you would be OK?

I write my phone number on DS's arm in pen. He can't take his arm off. He had a [[http://www.roadid.com/?referrer=8929&gclid=CNKOqYTo-8sCFRIUGwodxMEKJg Road ID]] wristband, but he ripped it off and lost it.

When I am running alone, I have a dog tag (engraved at local trophies/medals shop, but I have seen this service in pet shops) with my name on on side and "in emergency" and DH's phone number on the other. This is laced through my shoes. Cost about £4.

I normally stick some masking tape on the back of their t shirts between the shoulder blades with surname and mobile number on :)

Taking a photo on the day is good too to show what they are wearing.

Not sure why an information band needs to look good though.

My mum just used to scrawl useful info in biro on our arms, high up enough that we wouldn't scrub it off when washing them! For really crucial/busy/dangerous outings that involved big crowds it would be indelible marker

I used to either write my number on them in biro or get them to wear these. I worried more in crowded city centres than theme parks etc as they have procedures, radio contact etc. I lost DD (10) for a few minutes in Covent Garden recently and it was quite scary.

I write my number in pen on them when somewhere busy like an event - it can't be lost or removed.
For running/cycling DH and I both have ID bands, mine came from this company who do lots of child ones

It needs to look good?

Do you think people will be more inclined to reunite you with child if their lost bracelet is in style?

I've also put my number on their arm with pen at busy places.

Some people like things that look nice shocking I know

Thanks for the useful suggestions. I like the Velcro band will look into it. Yes I would like it to look good aswell nothing wrong in that is there if I can find something that works well. I'm honestly not promoting anything, just trying to find something for my children. I'm not keen on writing on their arms or masking tape on tops, I'd like something that is specially made for what I need.

DS never really ran off at all until one day when he was 3 and suddenly got confident! I wrote my number on his arm with pen that day and told him why and after that he kept looking seriously at his arm and then checking back to make sure he wasn't lost

I've used bands from the ID a and company for years.mthey are good (dd1 has had hers for about 4 years now, with daily wear, and is just about due a new one!) .

There are lots of reasons why someone would use these.

Dd1 wears one as she has severe ASD, I don't want to scrawl up her arm everytime we leave the house (and she wouldn't like it) and I can fit way more info onto the band insert - her needs, dietary issues (gluten and dairy intolerance amongst other things) as well as contact info.

Dd2 and Ds have them as well, mostly because having dd1 with us takes up a lot of attention/operating capacity, and so whilst I never managed to lose the Ds when they were toddlers, I could see Ds (now 3) wanderi g off and better safe than sorry.

And what's wrong with wanting something that will be worn often to look ok too? I'd far rather dd1 can choose what style/colour/whatever than just buy the first thing I see.misnt that what happens with most stuff to wear? There'd hardly be a fashion industry if no one bothered what anything looked like...

I got a legobrick keyring engraved with DS' name on one side and my phone number on the other. It stays on his backpack.

I recently got my DS (5) and DD (2) one of these each. They both seem to like them and I'm pretty sure neither can take them off without help. Due to use them for the first time this weekend so it will be a test as to whether I've wasted my money!

Red I like the Lego key ring idea as my 4 year old son is into his Lego right now funnily enough we are looking to visit legoland so shall have a look there.

Erm... This has never occurred to me. I've been too focussed on not actually losing my kids, clearly.

Little life do them to match their back packs. DD refuses to wear hers though.
