What bad parenting habits have you got into that you don't like admitting to?

I let DS (18 months) watch/play with the iPad during most meals as it makes mealtimes so much easier.

Ditto. Ds is currently eating his tea in front of gigglebiz. My rationale is that he has 'the best manners at nursery' according to his key worker so I can't bring myself to get stressed about it!

Let either or both of mine in bed with me at night. Baby 11mo if she's taking too long to settle & older one 4.7 if she asks

DC (6 and 10) get up before me in the morning and go down watch TV/play PS3 and get their own breakfast. My mum is always tutting and muttering about its not how I was raised.

Bribery . Eg 'if you get dressed now we'll have time to watch some iPad before going to the childminder's'. Etc. DD is 2.5 (and would basically stay in her pjs all day, ideally snuggled up in my bed with someone reading her stories without some form of coercion in the mornings).

DS sleeps in bed with me every night and he still has his milk in a bottle at bedtime.

It's the only way to get him to sleep other than driving him around in the car.

He did self settle and sleep in his own bed until the clocks changed in March and now he goes ape shit for hours if I try to put him in his own room.

Letting ds 10m play with eat my phone to keep him calm.
Feeding him favourite meals to fill him up for bed rather than expose him to loads of new things.
Hide vegetables in sauces etc for an easy life.

My 18 month old knows how to switch the Xbox on and take selfies on my phone because I let her play with them that much.

Way more TV than I'd ever intended
We do co-sleep as well, but I don't consider that a bad habit at all.

I don't think active decision to co sleep is a bad habit, just in my case I do it coz I'm lazywhen they are both capable of being in their own beds.
Agree on too much TV/using it as a bribe in the morning but I genuinely think it was a factor in DD1 speaking early & being numerate from v early on.

Do you not worry about food/drink going on your iPad?! That's what would stop me using that technique!

I'm a pretty slattern parent in many ways...

Yup TV as a babysitter here too. I was going to be an involved mum but after working all day plus ferrying children here there and everywhere and all cooking, housework etc I just need some downtime so as much as I loathe my little pony it gives me 20mins of peace.

My children think 2 puddings is normal (I always give them fruit followed by a biscuit/couple of sweets/yogurt etc) so much so when we eat out at friends or restraunts after pudding they always ask what is for second pudding!

My dd, 2.10, can watch up to 8 hours of TV a day. She's an early riser and late to bed, combined with me also having 14mo ds.
Equally, she's bright, has a great attention span, can count and spell... The bulk of this I genuinely think has come from CBeebies

Dd (10) often gets up with toddler and gives him breakfast

We let dds aged 6-13 stay up at weekends in holidays

I snooze on sofa while toddler watchs tv and tortures me

nc same here, ds is a tv addict when hes not at nursery. Dd1 was the same, shes at grammar school

Dd3 (6) spends more time in my bed than hers.

If the toddler has slept in the day, we let him stay up until we go to bed. Ditto if he won't settle.

Toddler screams blue murder at teeth brushing so this hapoens only once a day

All the children are allowed to drink fizzy drinks and sweets until it comes out of their ears on Saturdays only mostly

I'm STILL BF my 3yo DS to sleep at night... don't admit that to most people as it is bloody ridiculous. I know, lots of people advocate extended BF, and I think that's great if it works for you and it's what you want to do... But I really did not intend to carry on for so long (BF DS1 until he was almost 2 and that was enough for me). DS2 can obviously cope without as he manages just fine when he stays at his dad's/grandparents for sometimes days at a time!

But he is just so sad if I refuse, and cries in an utterly heartbroken pitiful way, as if I've just told him he'll never see me again or something. So I give in and he is contented and asleep within minutes, instead of wailing for hours and making himself sick as he is so upset.

DS1 probably gets way too much screen time for my liking. See, when he is playing minecraft/watching Netflix he is sitting nicely and being quiet, instead of tearing around the house creating mess, noise and chaos .

Telly and oven chips.

My 10 and 7 year old fall asleep to the telly in bed some evenings. Neither are actually watching it but I gave in when we'd listened to every audiobook I could afford.
They read while its flickering in the background! Something before kids I swore I'd never do!

Ds1 - 26 months
iPhone (he has my old one) - he loves nursery rhymes on you tube
Biscuits - these are a bribe to get in the pushchair and car
Dummy - another bribe esp against behaviour

I sometimes hate the parent I have become since ds2 has arrived. I always said would never give him a iPad/phone and would wean him off dummy at 1 year.

CBeebies on all day. She doesn't necessarily watch it all day, but it does help keep her entertained on long, wet days in-between doing other things.

CBeebies on all the time if we are in the house. I don't care that much but I don't think it's ideal really..

Too much ipad and sometimes giving super noodles for tea which they happen to love

My two year old has no bedtime. He used to be in a routine and then it fell around Christmas. Now he is up with me and sleeps with me in my bed.
