Would someone please tell my 10 month old.....

......that it would be easier to change her nappy if she would stay on her back, and not roll onto her tummy?
......that plastic nappy bags and dangerous and not toys, for little girls to play with
......that baby wipes aren't for little girls to suck
......that tissues aren't for little girls to eat...same applies to paper, envelopes, kitchen towel etc
......that "ah ah ah" and "no" are not meant to be met with laughing, followed by proceeding to reach again for the dangerous article!
......that Mummy would love to know why her favourite things are things that are dangerous, things she is not allowed and things she can't reach?!!!
......Mummy would love, and I mean really love, to leave the room without it being an absolute disaster! I will come back. I always do. I'm not going to abandon you. Please don't scream blue murder cry! Mummy would just like to go to the toilet.....alone......for once!!!

Also could you not get too rock and roll when you've had enough dinner, put the beaker and spoons down....

She also has a taste for cardboard. Lunch nah thanks, box you say... Well maybe I could nibble a corner or two.

Oh yes. My 10 month old sobbed this morning because she couldn't have my coffee.

This morning I produced a vtech baby walker which I bought for my nearly ten month old last night. Did he engage with the musical, flashing bits of fun plastic? No. He took a long look and then turned round to crawl to the hard metal bedside table on which the fan sits. Harrumph!

...stealing clothes off the clothes horse is not the intended purpose of the baby walker...nor is stealing magnets off the fridge!

Haha oh I do feel for you all - I remember that phase well. It must be so confusing for them though - ok, so I'm allowed to eat this stuff, but I'm not allowed to eat that stuff, and it's ok to touch this, but not that, when all I want to do is grab things and put them in my mouth, and ooh look shiney shiney, and it's all so arbitrary and waaaaah.

I think it's because they care about our boredom levels and want us to feel challenged in our role. Just like any good boss.

Mine threw herself on the floor in the supermarket and screamed yesterday because I felt we had spent long enough standing in one spot waving at the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse toys.

We've got a list of things the kids said when they were little, think my fave is

DD 'Mummy, Baby Shallot has eaten something white and grey that isn't food'

Was not in mouth when I got to Baby Shallot so no idea what it was . . .

My 1 year old DD has a thing for cables... She may have been a mouse in a past life.
She has loads of toys, nut nope - wants everything that isn't a toy!

original we have that, not waving at toys, but if she hasn't finished waving at the mirror before you move her...

Ha, I could have written that. My 10 month old will only let me change her nappies if she's standing up now.

DD also has a thing for cables. And shoes. They are the best toys ever.

She cries if I've turned one off her crew toys off

So in the last 24hrs lo has learnt to pull herself up on furniture....and decided to feed herself....you can imagine the fun we're having!!!!!

Have you all met my 10 month old - this all sounds very familiar! I know have empty wipe packets next changing mats to entertain during changes toys just don't cut it!

Cables a definite favourite and my magazine rack is lots of fun!

Definately buggerlugs I'm far more exhausted now (constantly alert, needing eyes in back of head!) than I ever was when we were getting up for a nightfeed!

Lol. Mine (9mo) has taken to spinning over during nappy changes too...
But please why aren't you happy in your playpen which is full of your bestest toys? You look at me making your breakfast and decide if you can't be under my feet you will just scream the place out instead!

Same here buggerlugs, 10, 3 and 5 on a good night. Teething at current, so we have an hour worth of hoo har sometimes too.

Is it ok to ask if the lo's who wake at night are bf or ff. (Am NOT trying to start a row, but just wondering if there is any link?) Lo here slept through night since 12 wks. Lo
exclusively bf then at 5months began to stir. Didnt want to start
weaning until 6months, so at
5months lo given f once per day at
bedtime feed. Nipped the stirring in the bud and continues to sleep through.
