assuming that they stay until they're 18 (ie do their A levels).

I've just worked out that I will be 45 and DH will be 49.

UCM · 08/11/2006 09:13

me 45 dh 48 !AAAARRRRGGGHHHHH that seems old

titchy · 08/11/2006 09:56

Oh God I'll be 50 and dh 54 when youngest reaches 18. Assuming both go to University then we'll be 54 and 58 by the time they finsh. Then they'll probably end up back home for a few years cos they won't be able to afford somewhere to live and we'll be retired by the time they finally fly the nest. Better get saving now!!!

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 08/11/2006 10:01

Don't be sad UCM, DHs are only as old as the women they feel..

Elibean · 08/11/2006 10:18

Mog, well said

Curlew, I think I love you

UCM, if it helps at all...my Dad is 80 this year, travels the world giving lectures, walks miles, and is planning a birthday party centred around his youngest grandchildren. Times have changed....

ledodgyfireworksingedmyeyebrow · 08/11/2006 10:21

I'll be 48 and dp will be 49. It's too depressing to think about dp was 31 yesterday on the same day our friend's baby turned 1 it really cheered him up when I told him when that baby turns 30 you'll be 60.

cupcakes · 08/11/2006 10:24

Am pregnant at moment so 18 years from now...
I'll be 50 and dh will be 51.

All those years of homework and parent's evenings...

alexh · 08/11/2006 10:50

I'm 38, one DS 16 months, hoping for more but have just had a miscariage so could reasonably expect that I might be nearly 60 when I finish. I am utterly knackered now - christ knows how I will feel then.........

TwinklingTinselAndTenaLady · 08/11/2006 10:51

56

Elibean · 08/11/2006 11:22

SurferChick · 08/11/2006 12:51

Ill be 48 if he leaves at 18 but I want more kids so who knows.

FIMBO · 08/11/2006 12:56

Me - 53
Dh - 52

yeahinaminute · 08/11/2006 14:23

God I wish I hadn't read this and did the calculations - assuming DD leaves school at 18 - I'll be 59 and DH - 60 .... Oh God then there'll be a bleedin' gap year, then University for another 3 - 4 years

I just don't have the energy for all this - I'm off to rock quietly in a dark room

NotAnOtter · 08/11/2006 14:30

42 when eldest leaves ....hopefully 58 with youngest!

we will be beginning our lives!
just how i wanted it.

Miaou · 08/11/2006 14:36

I will be 52 and dh will be 61

And we still want another one so may be even older in the end!!!

MegaLegs · 08/11/2006 14:38

Oh Noooooooo - I thought about this the other day. If ds4 stays at school until 18 I will be 54!!

yeahinaminute · 08/11/2006 14:39

Oh my God - I've just thought whilst I'll be 59 and DH 60 - number one son will be 33 when DD is 18 - I may have grandchildren to contend with too .... right where's the brochure on that cruise ship you can live on for ever as it sails the world ...

suedonim · 08/11/2006 14:41

I'll be 60 and dh 70. And if she goes to uni we'll be 64/74 before we can stop paying for her. Methinks finding her a rich man might be a better option....

Also, by the time dd2 leaves school I'll have had children at school from 1980 to 2014, a total of 34 years!!!!!!!!!

iota · 08/11/2006 14:42

suedonim I think you win

heifer · 08/11/2006 14:51

I will be 55 and DH 61..

But laughed that some of you will be 40ish when I am nearly 40 now and DD is only 2.11.....

lovely thread, cheers for that...

actually quite surprised to see so many older parents (although you are one your 6/7 child whilst I have just the 1....

suedonim · 08/11/2006 15:14

at winning something, Iota, but I'm at all the freezing cold sports days I've had to attend!
