assuming that they stay until they're 18 (ie do their A levels).

I've just worked out that I will be 45 and DH will be 49.

LittleSarah · 07/11/2006 18:44

I will be 40 and exp will be 42...

(But their is a small chance I may have another attempt... )

lou33 · 07/11/2006 18:45

50 for me

Twiglett · 07/11/2006 18:45

53 and 55

lou33 · 07/11/2006 18:45

sorry 52, ugh how depressing

wanderingstar · 07/11/2006 18:47

58 and 59. Bloody hell...

ellceeell · 07/11/2006 18:48

I will be 61 and dh will be 64. With a bit of luck, we will both be retired!

RanToTheHills · 07/11/2006 18:49

same as twiglett, how depressing (age not twiglett similarity). realsie i must really be an older mum as most people on here seem at being in their 40s when kids leave - we'll be approaching teenage tantrums then! So much for idle hedonistic 20s - which mine were, admittedly! No-one says there's pay back time, do they?!

PinkTulips · 07/11/2006 18:53

i'll be 40 and dp will be 43

Bozza · 07/11/2006 18:55

I will be 49, DH will be 48 and a lot of months.

Twiglett · 07/11/2006 18:57

rantothehills .. if it makes you any less depressed I'm older than DH

I would like to say that you are all going to be these ages anyway

brimfull · 07/11/2006 18:59

god both dh and I will be 58 aaargh!!!

mrsflowerpot · 07/11/2006 18:59

I will be 52, dh will still be 51 by a couple of months. Worked out like that, 50 seems much closer and I don't like it!

Koshka1984 · 07/11/2006 19:01

i'll be 40 - pretty good as hes only 4months old!

JoolsToo · 07/11/2006 19:03

when ds3 went to Uni at 18 I was 44 and dh was 43, of course that was a long time ago ........

Tinker · 07/11/2006 19:04

God, some of you will still be younger than I am now and my youngest isn't 18 months yet!

JoolsToo · 07/11/2006 19:07

and can I just say - all these 'ughs' 'oohs' 'aahs' and 'oh how depressing' are peeing me off!

You can go off folk you know, it's bloomin' great from where I'm standing

JoolsToo · 07/11/2006 19:08

.... back me up Jan

Twiglett · 07/11/2006 19:09

the other thing is it makes no odds .. cos do you really think they're leaving your house when they turn 18?

they may well go away to university .. but they'll be home for extended periods during the holidays and they'll probably move back in after graduating

you will be kicking them out of the house when you're 70 you mark my words

(we're planning on selling up when the last one goes to uni and buying a boat )

you're right Twiglett - youngest was about 26/27 and we virtually kicked him out (actually urged to buy somewhere before it became impossible for him)

motherinferior · 07/11/2006 19:13

If DD2 does A levels she'll finish school when I'm 58. I am planning to spend my menopausal years surrounded by lush young men who've come a'calling.
