How many dutch speakers are there on MN?

After looking through the different threads it struck me that there are a few Dutch speakers on MN. I thought it'd be nice to have an idea how many exactly and maybe we could all stay in touch.

Nu kunnen we volop Nederlands praten

Engels, met een Nederlander getrouwd, 8 jaar in NL, nog geen kinderen maar anderen van andere threads kennen misschien mijn verhaal daarover... Ik zou evt. kinderen zeker tweetalig willen opvoeden.

He Katetje, leuk om nog een Engelse vrouw in polder country te zien, moeten we zeker contact houden!

Hello im English orignally from Cambridge but now liivng in Gran Canaria. My fiancee is Dutch and he will speak only dutch to our daughter when she is born.
Havent dared write in dutch yet!!! I understand loads but only speak a bit as df and i speak to each other in english.
Also when he speaks to family friends etc they speak in Brabandts dialect which is well fast He is from Tilburg.

Ik ben een Nederlandse die alweer bijna 12 jaar in Engeland woont. Ik heb een Engelse man en samen hebben we 2 kinderen, een jongen van 6 en een meisje van bijna 3.Zij zijn niet tweetalig opgevoed, ik heb het wel geprobeerd maar niet echt kunnen volhouden Gelukkig verstaan en spreken onze kids genoeg Nederlands om met hun opa en oma te kunnen praten en begint onze zoon steeds meer interesse in het Nederlands te vertonen. We komen er wel
Leuk om weer eens Nederlands te kunnen praten.

Ik ben een engelse in Brussel met vlaamse man en dd van 6 maand, die hopelijk tweetalig zal worden. Tussen elkaar hebben dp en ik altijd engels gesproken dus hij vindt het heel erg moielijk tegen haar in het nederlands te spreken. Helpt niet dat hem de hele dag op het werk zit terwijl ik thuis ben met dd, maar tsja. Het zal uiteindelijk lukken.

Bedankt belgianmama - it's nice to write some Dutch for a change! I speak it regularly with the family and for various official things but haven't had the chance to practice my written grammar for a while!

It's nice to see all these people being added to my little Dutch/Flemish thread.
Euromum, if you aren't planning to move to the UK in the future, it might be an idea to stick to English at home, because your dd will pick up Dutch from all the other people around her: grandparents, family, friends, school,... Of course if you might go to England, then off course it's better to have both languages spoken at home.
Success anyway. My dc's are 4 & 6 and are both bilingual. They are doing really well and it's just amazing to see them in action together. They swap and change languages all the time and I often wonder how they decided what language to speak when. It's just so fascinating.
Speaking Dutch to my dc's comes natural now. When ds was a baby it felt a bit strange as English was all around me, but now it's normal and it wouldn't feel right to speak English to them. I hope this gives all other Dutch/English families a bit of hope that it IS possible
