Children's clothes - boys

So, yesterday I was shopping with dmum. Large shopping centre so huge range. Noticed again that boys clothes are so limiting - little monster, here's trouble.
When looking for christmas tops I was really surprised by H and M - one boys top with a monster riding a reindeer nowcompared to about a zillsnowflakes, glittery, pretty, sweet tips fo I know I can just buy them anyway for the boys but why not make some more unisex nice things, or

Primark had some nice christmassy shirts when I was in- bought DS one for his Christmas part that is red with lots of reindeer on it. I find primark are usually quite good for having plenty of variety for boys with colours and unusual motifs on tshirts etc.

How old is your DS? Mothercare does christmas jumpers up to size 7-8 and their boys designs are really nice and festive and classic.

I'm fed up with all the stripes!
DS looks like a blue and grey humbug most if the time!

But ditto Primark, in fact I think I bought that exact shirt Red, and some nice woolly leggings that were from the girls section but meh.
M&S has some nice things too, but I'm loathe to spend that much on novelty styff

Thank you, they are six and eight so might get something in both of those. I'm just really sick of the lack of variety for boys - ds2 would love something sweet to wear but is too aware to be comfortable in somethibg from the girls section

For some reason I have never encountered the same issues many mumsnetters seem to have. DS has a wide variety of lovely clothes vast majority from the high street. No character prints (except his Olaf Christmas jumper) as he doesn't like them

Ds (9) just found his perfect t-shirt in H&M. It was bottle green with a pocket; I would have passed it by.

He came running to me with it shouting "mum, look! Get rid of all my other t-shirts and buy me 20 of these" Hmm

Maybe he'll be the next Mark Zuckerberg Grin

I usually find that H&M are great for bright colours for boys. I tend to buy most of DS's stuff there, but I like stripes!

Where do you shop sirzy? We do h and m and Zara usually - zara is very good for plain stuff but anything themed is usually limited I'm finding.

I like some stripes, but occasionally when DP dresses him DS seems to be top to toe!

I find H&M good for neutral tees

And surfdome for sporty style ones.

My mum often sends us stuff from Sainsbury's (are they the ones that do the TU range?), and although some aren't always my cup of tea, DS loves them and they are excellent quality - some very quirky stuff, too.

Can't say I've been looking for festive stuff, so can't comment. No Primark nearby either. I find Zara shit quality, i'm afraid.

It's a common issue I think.
Loads of choice for girls, not so much for boys.
That being said, I have had some nice stuff from next, sainsburys and asda.

I generally agree with you. H&M all the way here.

I got this from Peacocks for DS1 the other day. And a similar baby one in red for DS2.

Their ordinary stuff was horrid, though. Saw a t-shirt for a 4yo that said 'Hello ladies!' on the front Hmm

Trouble is the choice for girls tends to be pink, sparkly and impractical.

I guess for girls they can do trousers and dresses. Boys can't do dresses so easily.
When pregnant I found I liked only boys stuff! Now DD is here I find cute stuff in both. But I hate that so much girls stuff is pink and frilly...

I like sainsburys. As for girls stuff - try having a DD who refuses pinks, sparkles, fairies, princesses, cute cats etc At least her clothes go to her brother afterwards ....

Asda was good actually, lots of nice things. I'm just a bit fed up of all the here comes trouble type things and a few tops woth snowflakes wouldn't go amiss in the boys section

vert baudet/La Redoute is good. They're always sending you offers, so you rarely pay full price and the quality is very good.

Also good for slim / tall boys which the Supermarkets do not cater for.
