He was 6 days old when we left hospital and we went to Asda on the way home.

KirstyJC · 19/05/2014 18:31

About 7 hours old, on the way home from the hospital. Stopped at the drive through as I was ravenous! And again at the chippy Blush

ASmidgeofMidge · 19/05/2014 18:32

With dd, the same day we were discharged. With ds, the day after (but wasn't discharged til 7.30pm)

Left hospital at 2.5 days, would have been out the next! Went out to dinner with DD at 5 days, lunch with DD at 4.

ListWriter · 19/05/2014 19:12

We were discharged the evening of him being 6 days old, out the next morning! I couldn't walk far but I was desperate for fresh air.

PumpkinPie2013 · 19/05/2014 20:07

We were discharged when he was 2 days old.

We went to register him when he was about 9 days old.

He was born in Nov and I had an emcs so didn't get out much until after Christmas.

neversleepagain · 19/05/2014 20:11

6 weeks old.

TheAbominableWoman · 19/05/2014 20:18

Our walking the dogs 48hrs after birth (24 hours after being discharged from hospital).

HillyandHally · 19/05/2014 20:19

Discharged with dc2 at 2 days old and went straight to tesco and then to see family. Dc1 I think was about 5 days old and we went to the Trafford Centre!

weeblueberry · 19/05/2014 20:51

We got out 5 days after she was born and went to the seaside the next day. :) I was very lucky though that she was an easy, happy, good feeding baby and I'd had a pretty easy birth. :)

Artandco · 19/05/2014 20:54

3 days. Home on day 2, went out for breakfast next morning

DeadCert · 19/05/2014 20:56

4 days old, went for a walk round the block - had a 3 day labour and EMCS so needed to rest!

Oly4 · 19/05/2014 20:57

For a walk as soon as we were discharged. But they were summer babies so easy

MaMaPo · 19/05/2014 20:59

Home from hospital on day 2, out for a walk and coffee on day 7. In between: recovery from emcs.

scoobydooagain · 19/05/2014 21:05

Same as TheAbominableWoman out walking the dog while pushing the pram when he was less than 2 days, it was December and nearly midnight.

We went to our local pub when she was three days old, for dinner. MIL was mortified. Apparently she didn't dare leave the house for a month?? Even more hilarious, the manager asked if we needed a high chair.
I loved taking then out when they are tiny, they generally sleep, and people love looking at teensy babies.

We left the hospital on day five and went straight home but three days later I took him for a five minute walk to our church to light a candle for him (and say a little thanks to himself above) Grin

Passmethecrisps · 19/05/2014 21:19

I think dd was about a week old and we went to a local restaurant for a coffee. I remember walking back thinking that my insides were going to fall out. They didn't.

OldBeanbagz · 19/05/2014 21:26

DS was 2 days old when we took him to a New Year party and we got home at 2am (though i was breastfeeding and therefore not drinking).

With DD i was in hospital 3 days and took her to visit my parents the day after we got out.

autumnboys · 19/05/2014 21:29

DS1 was born by on a Wednesday, we went home on the Saturday, pub lunch with the ILs on the Sunday, then over to my Mum's.
DS2 was born on a Thursday, home on Saturday, church on Sunday. I'd had a emcs for placental abruption - he is 8 and I have friends who still reminisce about how awful I looked (I did!) He was by far the worst recovery, I wasn't properly well for about 7/8 months, but that was as much to do with having 2 under 2 I think.
DS3 was prem, another placental abruption, uterine infection, went to SCBU, came out at 8 days, we went straight to the preschool and school to pick the other two up.

MummyLuce · 19/05/2014 21:31

2days. Had c section and was discharged following evening, out in the park with toddler and newborn next morning

Lweji · 19/05/2014 21:39

Apart from coming home, at 1 day old, Heathrow to pick up my parents. It was January and about one week after his birth.

luckiestgirlintheworld · 19/05/2014 21:40

I didn't take him til about maybe 10 days because I had EMCS, but my husband took him after a few days just for a little walk.

Figster · 19/05/2014 21:42

2 days we went to inlaws for Xmas day........ big mistake
