I have a dd and pregnant with dc 2. Dd will be 20 months when dc2 born.

What are the best double prams to buy please ?

----------------------

Hello!

We've noticed that this thread is quite old now, and some of the product recommendations are a little out of date. We've spent weeks speaking to parents and testing the top-performing pushchairs on the market to find the best double buggy for 2019.

Hope that helps! Flowers

Clip the car seat into the jogger, then, instead of using the carry cot.

KeepOnKeepingOnAndOnAndOnAndOn · 28/04/2014 07:06

I do not use the car much. I wasn't aware you can out a car seat into the city jogger select? Mothercare didnt tell me that...

I think I will go for the city jogger then. A grand on a pram is just a tad ott for me, as much as I luv the bugaboo (I say this now...)

Has maybe used the bugaboo donkey as a converted single. ??

Look at the baby jogger website, it will tell you which car seat clips you can buy for the city select. I bought my pram from John Lewis.

15 months between my 2 and we have the baby jogger city mini double. I got it on a great offer from John Lewis a month or so ago because they were selling off the old model. It's been great so far (although DD1 hates going in any pram so she's not keen).

How odd. It says online that it is not compatible with any car seat - the citi mini double pram :/

I checked in their website ...

I've got a Phil&Ted for mine - 13months difference.

It's been great. I don't drive, but haven't had any trouble getting it in the few cars we've used. No trouble getting through doorways, on buses, lifts, etc.

We bought ours off eBay - about £100 for the whole thing, in reasonably good condition, with all the extras. And at that price, it doesn't bother me in the slightest if it gets banged about/DC make a mess.

KeepOnKeepingOnAndOnAndOnAndOn · 28/04/2014 13:05

I do like hve Phil and tedd too, ta :)

Just looked in ebay and it appears there is a carry cot you can buy that will attach to the citi mini double?

City select, not City mini

m0therofdragons · 28/04/2014 14:44

Out and about nipper. Best thing is you can steer with one hand and hold the older dc's hand to cross roads when they want to walk. I've had mine from birth for dtds and none come close to how easy it is to use and how comfy it is. We wanted a mountain buggy but they weren't released until 3 months after dtds were born in the end. Must say I'm glad, mountain buggy is very heavy in comparison.

Pregnantagain7 · 28/04/2014 16:14

The city select is not a side by side buggy which is what i want, you def can't clip a car seat on the city mini jogger well not according to their website, mother are and John Lewis. It would be a really good option if you like that style of buggy though :)

Pregnantagain7 · 28/04/2014 16:16

Sorry, and yes there is a carrycot for the mini but for me it doesn't solve the car seat issue. Damn you baby jogger!!! :)

KeepOnKeepingOnAndOnAndOnAndOn · 28/04/2014 19:39

Oh think I will get the citi mini jogger and a basket with it. Will make my life easier i imagine ... I do not like the citi select either.

Goin to check the nipper out again though... Decisions , decisions ...

Ahhh! I just saw you an buy a pram attachment that faces you for the city mini jogger double. Then on dc old enough, remove pram attachment and they are in a forward facing seat along with their older sibling. Perfect! Made my mid up for sure now :) :)

I have a 20 month gap between mine and I got a Phil and teds sports off eBay with all the extras for about £180. My dd is only 3 weeks old but its been great so far, it is the size of a battle ship tho!

Mountain Buggy Duet. Brilliant.

Sleepingisgivingin · 28/04/2014 22:59

My BJCM double is nearly 3 now and you couldn't get the carrycot in the UK back then, so I bought a graco carrycot and clipped it in for when my littlest was newborn. I would've loved a parent facing one though!

We did walk almost everywhere and since each of my babies were 9lb or more I found them too heavy to carry in removable car seats so that wasn't such an issue for me. The main thing for me was if I went out for a walk and was fortunate enough to get both dc to sleep it needed to fit the door which it did.

KeepOnKeepingOnAndOnAndOnAndOn · 29/04/2014 06:34

Sleeping- yes I do hope it fits through my front door!

Second what nails said...mountain buggy duet is amazing!!

My now 2 1/2 yr old is a tall girl and fits no problem.

Side by side suits us best as she's always in and out and her and baby are so comfy.

It fits through everywhere! I actually get a bit excited by the gaps I can squeeze through Wink

The donkey in comparison is too wide and is so expensive given I'll probably use for a year...a friend of mine (with same age gap as you) had donkey for six months then swapped to duet.

It is bloody heavy if you're putting it in car boot mind (though I think most doubles are)

shaktar · 29/04/2014 15:58

Out n about nipper double will fit in a corsa boot - saved us having to get a new car.
